#36 ESEA S15 NA IM Happenings/Predictions in TF2 General Discussion
Mr_Owlget wrecked has been scrimming with like a million different scouts (gonna be x3 and ragn4r i guess?) and I don't think Tiger is playing with them.

We are playing, we want to be moved to IM.

where did u even stumble upon this if i spoke spanish fluently i'd probably enjoy this video.

I'm not exactly sure how I found the video, it was a related video on youtube to whatever I was watching. When I first seen the thumbnail, I thought it was kaidus with a TF2 hat on cause it looks like him.

#15 Data analysis of the top 8 teams at i49. in TF2 General Discussion

Seems like this "article" (if you want to call it that) is mostly based at praising EU players and teams and saying negative things about HRG players.

#342 Fat shaming in Off Topic
RhetoricalAnarchistI haven't had time to read this entire thread, but I have seen the idea of love thrown around a lot, and its relations to genitals. You can love someone without having a sexual relationship. In fact, in my opinion love and sex are entirely separate things. From a sexual standpoint, a relationship with a trans person can be an awkward ordeal, however that should never deter a person from loving them. I actually had a conversation with my girlfriend a while ago where she asked that if she became a trans guy would I still love her, and I said yes of course. She asked if I would still have sex with her, and while I couldn't say yes immediately, given a little bit of time to get used to her change I would. This was all hypothetical though, she very much identifies and is happy as a woman, so I guess it's easier for me to say that now than to have it actually happen.

Its easy to say that now but I would think that when faced with the new yogurt slinger, things might change. Maybe I am just speaking for myself but who knows....

#11 Ben Affleck in Off Topic
2sy_morphiendMoonwalkingPneumoniaBen Affleck isn't even the reason why I'm not excited for this movie. I don't trust Zack Synder and David S. Goyer to tell a good story at this point. They should have brought someone else on who can actually write dialogue.
Pretty much this, superman is a bad character to begin with, but good lord did man of steel blow.

If you want whiny dialogue for the whole movie just go rent the Twilight Series and snuggle up with your poodle. We want fighting and explosions.

#273 how do you think australia will do at i49 in TF2 General Discussion

It might be good for HRG to taste defeat again after so many victories. Even better that it happened in the group stage. Get the loss out of the way early and move on from there.

Sometimes losing can focus a player/team and they end up playing better because of it.

Great game played by iM. I think HRG is going to bounce back in the knockout stage.

You can't say Epsi is overrated. When you win 35 (I think) matches in a row against the best competition you are clearly NOT an overrated team.
europe isnt the best competition, cheers
There is like one team in Europe that is even near epsilon and that team probably wouldnt make Lan here.

I think you need to watch more Broder/Infused matches before you make that statement. Both of those EU teams are just as good as any team at ESEA LAN.

I am not being a EU fanboy or anything, just stating the truth.

All that aside, the dark horse nobody is talking about is Broder. They have 2 players who can hang with anyone and turn any game in their favor. In my opinion, the best EU medic around is Mirelin and 0 ping Jukebox sniping could be scary. I predict Broder to upset Epsi at LAN. It would not surprise me if they beat HRG to win the whole thing but I still have my money on HRG.
What. Mirelin is good, but he isn't on the same level as Knoxxx. Knoxxx might not pull off insane stuff as much as Mirelin, but that is because he almost never get into a situation where he has to. If you want to learn how to play medic you should watch Knoxxx and not Mirelin. They are both really good medics, but Knoxxx plays the more effective game.

And Jukebox? No. Yes, he is good, everyone on that team is. But the two star players on Broder are Zebbosai and Cookye.

I didn't post that Knoxx was not a fantastic medic. I know exactly how good he is, my opinion is just that Mirelin is better. I don't see how you can say Mirelin is not on the same level as Knoxx.

As for Juke, I mentioned him because he is a play maker as roamer and sniper. That combo makes him exciting to watch and he is very effective. I wouldn't label anyone a "star player" on a team that is so well rounded. In all honesty, the weakest player for Broder over the past month or so has been Zebb. disagree?

#24 i49 Predictions in LAN Discussion

For me, the hype for i49 would be so much better if Mixup was going along with HRG. It's sad to think that Mixup is at the very least the 3rd/4th best team playing right now. For them to not be at the competition deciding who is the best team seems a little undeserved. Not having a sponsor or money sucks.
Mixup vs Broder/Infused would be incredibly good matches to watch.

I have watched an insane amount of EU Prem matches/scrims. I feel what will hurt Epsi in the end is the lack of teams to play and practice with consistently. Epsi dominates the EU scene but have only Broder and Infused to practice against all the time. The same 12 players all the time. When the same players play each other non stop for so long, they get learn habits and tendencies and it can have an effect on play against new teams.

I don't think HRG has had such a lack of diversity in scrims/matches because there are at least 6 solid NA teams that all play differently. Mix, Trihards, AG, Mad Men and top guns were all solid this season. I believe that diversity will give HRG an advantage to adapt game play and come out on top.

1-- HRG
2-- Broder
3-- Epsi
4-- Infused

All that aside, the dark horse nobody is talking about is Broder. They have 2 players who can hang with anyone and turn any game in their favor. #211 Quick-Fix in 6s? in TF2 General Discussion
PowerofTowerSpaceCadetUnlocks are the one part of Comp TF2 that I never could understand. Maybe I am too old school of a player but I started the first day of quake and then QWTF, where your individual skill and the skill of your team determined who won and who lost.

Personally, I believe comp TF2 should have no unlocks at all. I can't understand why certain "items" can give a team an advantage over other teams who are less skilled.

Everything should be even across the board. In those situations, the better team will win every time. In the end, isn't that what Competitive play is about? The better team wins and individual items should not be a factor in determining that.

One of the things that makes tf2 such a great competitive fps is that it isn't the team with the better dm that always wins, it's usually the team with the better strategies. Unlocks that give a worse team a clear advantage over a better team are op and banned, but the unlocks that allow for interesting strategies and are sidegrades should be allowed. If a team ran kritz 24/7 they would get destroyed, but a team that knows when to use kritz in the right situation will be good. The only question is whether the quick-fix is op or not.

I think it might be interesting to ban quick-fix on 5 cp maps, but allow it on koth and ad maps. Also I think there should be more koth and AD maps. Edifice is GREAT!

I understand what you are saying and I realize that nothing I say will change anything or matter in the end.

However, I don't think you realize how much strategy can be applied to DMing as a team. I would argue DM is much more strategy based than working around unlock bonuses for an advantage. Using positioning and concentrated fire are many skills teams never develop enough and those are DM related. Essentially the only thing you work on with unlocks are timing for pushes and making plays off the items you equip. That does involve skill in it's own way but DM skill outshines that in my opinion.

My main point is that "items" are being used to circumvent real skill. In any competitive form of Team Fortress, that has never been part of the game. I am just not a fan of items having such a great determining factor in how teams win fights.
