But you already do have a channel to turn to. While it might not be possible to remove the founder of mix.nahl from her position, you could boycott her channel by playing in pug.nahl instead. Hell, even encourage the -Silver players to migrate.

League fees: By team, or by player? Is there a way to lock rosters during playoffs? Are match comms even a thing available on the site? I literally have no clue.

Will the main page design change to a more aesthetically pleasing/simple layout like ESEA's design presently?

Both. HRG always had b4nny and lansky as the team's callers, but the problem is that both of them were part of the combo, meaning that their calls were frequently redundant and it left the flank without a caller, giving an incomplete picture for the combo to work with.

SylvesterIt may just be me, but sniping in Highlander is more of a challenge then it is in 6's.

After a while, Highlander players just KNOW if a Sniper is there in higher divisions. You don't do as much because there's a Sniper on the other team as well (In 6's if you're sniping and there is not a Sniper on the other team, who's there to kill the Sniper? The Roamer/Scouts? A Scout/Soldier isn't a good trade if they get killed for trying to go after the Sniper.) You really can't do anything as a Sniper in HL if the other Sniper is just better.

In 6's, a Soldier or a Scout will try and get the Sniper.
In Highlander, the Soldier, Scout, Spy, and Sniper will try to get the Sniper.

There's just more things to stop Snipers from sniping in Highlander, so Highlander Snipers who shine got their fame from their effort. I'm not saying that it's EASY to Snipe in 6's. If you don't make every headshot you're playing 5v6. Since there aren't enough players, it's easier to focus on a Sniper and once someone is sniped, he'll get called out immediately.

In HL, you get infinitely more opportunities to take shots and there are many classes that don't have advanced mobility on the field (Heavy, Sniper, Pyro, etc.) and since Sniper is 9v9 is standard, you are not burdening your team by playing the class.

In 6s, it's really fucking hard, even if you outright amazing at the class. I'm not going to say that Max! is a bad sniper, but he would not thrive in a 6s environment as strongly as he does in HL, and he knows that damn well since he's not a complete stranger to 6s. We've seen him, Paragon, powah, etc. play HL and top frag every now and then on Sniper, but if they were to run full time Sniper in 6s, they would get destroyed unless it was bound to be a curbstomp in the end anyway.

Soldier, Spy, Scout, and Sniper are all flank/pick classes, so it's no surprise for them to be delegated with the task of killing the other teams Sniper, assuming that's the pick they need or if it's the only one they could get with the room the other team provides for them. It's not really TOO different from 6s, except that the flank classes (sans roamer) don't really sac much in transition plays into or out of mid, and getting damage, forcing an uber, or winning ground for his team is a better use of his life than trying to kill the telescopemans who probably has a buff and is protected by the combo or flank.

The decision to offclass to Sniper is one that is not taken lightly. If you can't hit shit then your team is fighting 5v6, and you need TWO frags or a hell of a other of damage to validate going Sniper. Around half the time, clockwork got results at LAN by tearing a hole on the flank for his team to take advantage of. Clockwork's consistency at S14 LAN is why he wins my vote for the best Sniper playing currently, regardless of format.

Arguably, but people didn't like how dull it was in 6s (the cap time took FOREVER back when it was made in mind for ESEA. Even averaging a 5x on a point would have it take around 20 seconds to cap) and that rounds were decided by who sent better parties to what points, so luck was a more prominent factor in deciding rounds. Because it's 6s, you cannot really commit to having a player or two try to hold a capped point while the rest of the team contests the other two.

It was a very interesting idea back in Season 10, but its use in any sort of competitive league is done (unless UGC puts it in S12 HL), but we got one hell of a fun map for pubs out of it in the end I guess.

I technically main this class in HL, but it's so dumb and terrible and have had infinitely more fun playing Soldier, despite having to deal with three utility 6s classes that actively dedicate themselves in some way to sabotaging my role, one of which is Pyro.

All of the irritation of Heavy, but with none of the sloth, and the worst part is that Pyro isn't even a very good class despite all of the unlocks making it xXx_CRITMASTER_420_xXx because to DM and put out burst it needs to be in your face while classes like Scout, Soldier, and Demo can two or three shot it while remaining outside of flame and airblast reach. While flame reg is crap and the particles have to travel, airblast range is absurd, instantaneous, and vague unless you actually bother to look up or test the radius.

Airblast radius is not a cylinder, but a Goddamn BOX, meaning he can still reflect spam that is fired to the far left or right of him (radius is approx. five Pyro player models wide).

I don't see the buff to the Powerjack being influential in running it as an offclass to mid in 6s. Pyro would get there only slightly later than the Medics and Soldiers without it and even then, he would still get to mid before the Roamer bombs in anyhow. Outside of the Powerjack, which has to be out for the speed bonus to take effect, Pyro has no other means of advanced mobility because last time I checked, Detonator jumping has not been buffed to how it was in TF2 Beta.

At best, it will work under the context of "holy shit they're running a Pyro to mid?" which might work only because it throws a wrench in what the enemy team intends to do at mid. Oooooooooor they're like "holy shit there's a Pyro at mid, which means no X", and then roll them because they don't have to worry about a second Scout or a Roamer/Pocket at the midfight. Either way, it's still one less combat class since Pyro cannot be as proactively involved in a fight as the Scout or Soldier, so it forces some passiveness, and Heavy would probably be a better offclass choice to compliment that style of play.

Only saying this because the removal of the two points and how scoring works in halves is no longer Godawful. It's actually fun now, and it's a hell of a lot better "alternative" game mode than ctf (which has been in normal season numerous times) or payload race (plr_waste was the pre-season map in S9).

quintoshgpit in semifinals maybe?

gpit is prone to causing upsets so having it in playoffs would likely result in better teams being gayed because if you lose B to the first push attempt offense takes you're fucked. I don't think anyone would ever advocate a stopwatch non-payload map for playoffs. I also feel it's a horrible choice map for a tie-breaker in ESEA finals if the lower bracket team take badlands.

I don't think it should be banned for the rest of the season without evaluation. There is still a few weeks before Open and IM playoffs with LAN being a longer while away. Now would be the best time to decide whether or not it should be whitelisted for the remainder of Season 14.
