#5 Internet for summer in Off Topic
kolingHello, I'd like to ask if exists anything like "mobile wifi" for playing in abroad with good ping (40-60)

No.

koling I'd need it for like 12-15 days and I'd be playing 3 hrs a day.

Only affects cost.

kolingMinimally I'd like to have 30 mbps.

Why?

kolingWould be cool if anyone could recommend me something if anything like this exists.

Smartphone? 3G/4G/LTE whatever you got, set up wifi hotspot, done.

So if you stay in the EU same price (or slightly more before 15th June) as you'd pay for Internet on your smartphone usually.

Seems more like a driver crash then.
Have you updated the drivers recently?

#12 Color vision test in Off Topic

#10
Depends on your monitor. Lacking a lot of green is common., thankfully I never got any green.
If you're having trouble with black then your black levels are probably bad, again not uncommon for TN panels.

#11
Depends on the monitor. E.g. the one I used actually got too much yellow, but is lacking green across the board, so any colour with >90% green is problematic. So even #00f0f0, which is definitely not green, is skewed.

#9 Color vision test in Off Topic

Got fucked by two almost fully saturated red/purple in a row, which my monitor genuinely can't display.
Somehow guess the first one by randomly clicking.

#6 PC is acting up, help. in Q/A Help

Happens only in TF2 or other games as well?

1. Try stock TF2 and see what happens.
2. Run a GPU benchmark (e.g. Unigine Heaven/Valley) and check for interesting artifacts like those.

So did you get the SSD anyway? Or back to the drawing board?

#32 low fps problems in Hardware

Render scale helps when your GPU is limiting, not the CPU.

CPU usage by program? Something seems to be wrong and it could be that something is taking up ressources.

I hope not both at the same time.
Yes, run one a bit longer.
PSU temp.

If a stresstest can't force PSU overheating then it might be something else.

#27 star wars: battlefront II (2017 re-make) in Other Games
the301stspartanSetsulThey are most definitely not porting it. Everything has to be redone.
Yes I know, but it still feels like a port to the customers.
SetsulI don't think their budget cares about how you feel.
It will cost them almost as much as a new game so how it feels for the customer is rather irrelevant.

?? No, how it feels for the customer is the difference between a successful game and Battlefront EA.

Whether or not it feels like a port does not affect the fact that it is not a port.
Neither does it affect the cost.

the301stspartanThe fact that they have to redo everything is the very reason a straight remake is weird to me. They can't justify development costs of a game this scale with nostalgia sells only.

It's EA.

the301stspartanBattlefront 2 had more content than any shooter we have today. This must be a huge project. The same people who would buy it for nostalgia know about Battlefront 3 also and would most likely buy a new game in the same style.

Correct, but like I said: If the gameplay in BF III was unchanged you wouldn't even be able to tell which one it was based on. If it was changed then they have no idea how well it would work. So if they are going to go back to old BF mechanics BF II is the safe bet.

the301stspartanYes sure, it's safer to remake it 100% and change nothing except visuals, but the hype and interest this will generate seems disproportionate to the scope of the project of making it, as opposed to making an actual sequel.
By the way, it's not gonna be a 100% remake with "no changes" if Kylo Ren is in it obviously. So why not go all the way and use the gameplay from 3, or even if they don't, market it as 3?

Since they do have to redo all models and visuals they will obviously include the new stuff. More hype.
Gameplay see above.
People complained about the reboot because it didn't feel like Battlefront and more like Battlefield.
How are they supposed to know that the new gamplay was based on Battlefront III, since that was never released?
The only way to get people to shut up about "but BF I/II were different" is to actually use gameplay just like that.

the301stspartanEither way I hope that I'm wrong about the hype and, if it's a genuine Battlefront feel, it will be a huge success and everyone will start playing this shit again. 2 was definitely one of the best shooters I ever played. I hope they won't fuck it up.

Yes.

the301stspartanEDIT: Ok, as a side question after reading the article in the OP: Where does it actually say anywhere that they are remaking Battlefront 2?

Nowhere.
Roman numerals + space battles + campaign = remake confirmed.
Rumours of galactic conquest. God, I loved that.
Contains 99% hype and 1% facts.

the301stspartanI'm only reading that they are making Battlefront (EA) II, aka a sequel to their failed game and that it has single player and space battles. Nowhere does it talk about a remake or that they have any intentions to make a new game with all the content of Battlefront 2?[/i]

Goal 13 million copies.
Sold >14 million.
Massive failure.

I think if EA has one of these failures every year they are set.

I don't think their budget cares about how you feel.
It will cost them almost as much as a new game so how it feels for the customer is rather irrelevant.

A sequel is also not a surefire success.

No one knows how close BF 3 actually was to being finished, rumours are no confirmation.

If game modes were identical then it doesn't really make a difference what you base it on in that regard. If they changed anything then no one knows how well those changes would be recieved.

So this is the safe bet for 2 reasons:
1. While mechanically (including textures etc.) everything has to be redone, gameplay is fixed and proven to work.
2. No changes so you get the full nostalgia benefit.

#22 star wars: battlefront II (2017 re-make) in Other Games

I might consider it if it's neither:
-A frostbite remake of Star Wars Battefront with less content than a DLC of the original ones.
-Actually Battlefield: Star Wars.

Their first try went 0/2. Still not going to buy it if it's really just 10% of SWBF II on Frostbite. I'm fine with it being the same game again, then it's worth 50 bucks, but not if it's some 1 or 2 gamemodes, 3 maps shitshow.

What do you mean the fan test is working but you're not sure it's turning on?
If the paperclip test works it's turning on.

Is it a modular PSU and you're mixing up the connections?
