genuinely i just got fatkidded by the website in OPEN pugs 5 times in a row. FIVE pugs in a row i didn't get to play. my elo isn't even the lowest in the queue. players with lower elo got picked before me, who had ALREADY played the previous pug. i'm 110% convinced now that open pugs should just function like tf2pickup. waiting in line for no reason is so boring and the same people just play the pugs on repeat
if you're actually from brazil, i'm not exactly sure what the new player onboarding process is in the brazilian region so we might have to wait for some other brazil/SA players to reply to you
but there's newbie mixes and TF2CC like sanity mentioned (ignore the rest of his post). otherwise, if you plan on playing in NA like some other SA players do, you could just hop on a newcomer team and try to learn. often times if you're honest about your skill level, at least somebody on an NC team is willing to teach you the basics. there's teams looking for players in the RGL discord all the time (though it might be hard right now, as the season is in the back half right now)
highlander is fun and everything, and if your class isn't regularly played in 6s i can understand the appeal, but newbie mixes and tf2cc are targeted towards 6v6, which is the main game mode teamfortress.tv is about. you're gonna find less people who know a lot about highlander here than in whatever respective HL discord is most active, no idea what it is
the hoovyware guys are dangerous... dont mess with them baba boss
i need to know what i can do differently, i could use someone with a good amount of advanced+ experience that can break down pocket scout with me over demos (even if you don't play pocket scout). preferably someone who i can contact every so often when i play a match or have a demo i have questions about
add me on discord @ heavyslash
or this steam account (dont add tftv steam): https://steamcommunity.com/id/messymezi/
generally for hitscan games, the lowest sens you can comfortably play on (comfortably being the key word) tends to produce the best results, though obviously your results may vary. if you can't lower your sens any further without your movement suffering, then there's nothing you can do but lock in
no, no. speak on that john. do you think that's funny? i don't, personally. i think everyone makes mistakes. maybe you should extend some courtesy to MR SLIN. surely if something embarrassing like that happened to you, you would appreciate some forgiveness and humility, yes?
idk who rosepunk is but you trying multiple times to deflect about them "raiding your discord" when, if this was really an accident, is weird behavior for someone innocent. you'd probably just be like "my fault OG i was playing jump maps before and didnt notice" and try not to antagonize further
also thats a pretty weak excuse. that last clip is like. insanely bad
if i were you in that situation in the last clip and didnt give myself buddha on purpose i am INSTANT pausing the pug and fixing it as well as laughing about it. there's ZERO way you don't notice how ridiculous it is you live there
you also talking about how much you want to play advanced only hurts your case. you are clearly obsessed with pug logs. you got into an argument with cutx in the TF2CC discord about how many games you win over him, pulling up trends.tf pages and you talk about all the games you drop 40 in constantly. you clearly want to impress people with numbers so you can get people to play advanced with you. this just further incentivizes you to cheat
there's a lack of high quality pugs in america too. rgl pugs are extremely hit or miss, sometimes people are trying, sometimes people are genuinely trying to lose. there's never any medics and the adding up and picking progress means sometimes you have to wait like 15 minutes between a pug compared to tf2pickup where the next pug sometimes starts instantly
low div pugs are especially bad. nobody tries, most people want to offclass only, they take even longer to start because you have to wait for a pug runner (the easiest job on planet earth, btw) to decide they want to run some, then you have to sit in an empty vc until 12 people join, all for there to be a random chance you have to play med for someone who's completely silent and feeding
i really, really want to play competitive fun pugs but it seems so bleak
MelvinKnight!! : guys
MelvinKnight!! : melvin is very disapointed,,,
mpgh.net birthday email :o3 : melvin should play better
MelvinKnight!! : maybe melvin will
they clearly cant feel your aura. they dont respect game, so you gotta thug it out
i think AI (which 5 years ago was called "neural networks" and 5 before that was "machine learning") has use in corrective applications like doing screen replacements for movies and tv or whatever, or correcting your math homework or fixing your spelling and grammar automatically for your essay, but i think if you believe it has any genuine generative applications, like DALL-E and all that type of shit, you are a for real retard
i wanna pug all day 16 hours a day but i cant because this game is dead until 8 pm and even when its alive you cant play unless you are invite or advanced
on the real though, is it really even a question? there's no cultural connection with young peoples' peers in a game like quake. think about when we (people my age at least) played call of duty in middle and high school because it was so ubiquitously popular it felt like you had to hop on and play just cuz that's what your friends were doing after school if they weren't hanging out IRL
games like fortnite, league of legends, warzone, overwatch, MMOs especially, and even counter-strike have strong connections to popular culture. you get on these games because your friend, your schoolmate, your coworker is playing them. the same reason a lot of you guys still play tf2 today (combined with the fact that the game is just really fun), it's where your friends are
quake had its community when it was relevant in the PC gaming space, when PC gaming was a novel, new, and niche thing to do. it was the circumstances quake multiplayer was born in that formed the people who want to play it, just as modern games are today
you have a really cool steam profile
