These are the kinds of updates CS:GO gets.

#176 Lange's thoughts on the state of competitive TF2 in TF2 General Discussion

I play dota casually because there is a competitive scene that takes it seriously. I actually bought an item, and the last two compendiums. Ive only purchased a couple mvm tickets from valve for TF2.

How many kids do you think bought the PA arcana, and also love spamming S A D B O Y S or some other shit in Arteezy's or EEsama's chat?

High level play can increase the value of a game, which means more dedicated players which means more money thrown away. There is a monetary incentive for valve to support competitive tf2.

But it starts with pub kids being interested in the game, which they arent. They want Highlander cause they can see every class. Why do you think Robin suggested HL instead of 6s?

Edit: Reading it again, i guess i was saying the same thing as hildreth lol

#33 End of the Line in TF2 General Discussion

Is it so bad that I want one of these for TF2? Just a post that tells the community what they are working on and what to expect?

#38 Sustainability of TF2 as a competitive game. in TF2 General Discussion
MarxistFolks start losing, can't figure out why, become frustrated, and quit.

Or they realize what it takes to improve to the next level (namely a whole lot of DM practice) then just find its not worth it.

Not to say what makes a top player is great aim, but its definitely a pre-requisite.

#15 Looking for a game in Other Games

There are not many fps with higher time to kill than TF2. Higher ttk usually comes with more mobility, since there there to be more opportunities to make interesting decisions. Playing scout in a cs style game would be really lame, since all the cool positioning and movement decisions you could make are essentially obsolete.

But then higher mobility contributes to a higher ttk on its own, and you can run into the problem of fights getting too tedious if you increase both health and mobility too much.

Hawken has a pretty long time to kill, and is pretty much the best implementation of the moba playstyle into an fps (not the farming mechanics). however, the movement in that game is hardly free (even though there is a lot of skill in it), and the turn rate limit will annoy a lot of fps players.

Tribes is another good game with a long time to kill and freedom of movement. Though I still wouldn't recommend for just so many reasons.

#6 Smash Bros for Wii U in Other Games

The controller actually makes a huge difference holy shit. The 3ds version is inferior.

'Months' is pretty optimistic for valve.

The nerf broke pubs. Sentries were hard enough for pubbers to destroy without teamwork. Then they took away the sentry's hard counter.

Ya. Stickies and ubers are a bandaid solution.

AvastWell considering that a team with solid aggression can always manage to work past defensive classes and kill them at mid range seems like a point you missed.

Well, its no mistake that demo and medic are OP.

I think you misunderstood. Those classes that close the gap or flank CANT because the heavy engie and pyro are so strong at close range, but are bad at attacking themselves. This puts them in defensive roles leaving the demo free to get damage on the other enemy demo-medic-heavy combo.

Everyone should keep in mind, demo "works" in 6v6 because you have 2 scouts and 2 soldiers per team, and no defensive classes most of the time aside from the demo himself. In HL, between heavies and engies, its extremely difficult to close the gap on a demo (or sniper for that matter).

But then you talk about changing heavies and engies and people have a panic attack.

pub tf2 is broken, but valve seems unwilling to fix it.
