agreed. The last pocket guide with any worth I've found is now turning 9 years old in a week, and many parts have naturally aged like milk with things like the scout buff... it's just sad; that emptiness is kiling the scene

thanks for the heads up! I think the issue might be something related to TF2's low-level graphics, in that case, because of how OP's game instantly crashed after trying to change sens. Might be a good idea to try using different SDL2 versions

That driver version was released just 4 days ago (January 5th) - not quite a week ago, like your original post mentions. If you're memory is just being hazy then it could still possibly be a driver issue. I had a look at that version
's changelog, and there are some Vulkan-related changes, but they don't seem to be anything game-breaking. If you really can't roll-back your driver version and think this is driver-related, then you might have to hang in there and wait for a new, hopefully functioning version to come out

if that's the case I'm going to take another shot in the dark and ask if you're using NVIDIA. might be a driver problem - I have a Radeon and don't have this issue, but it'd make sense if Source games worked well on Windows and poorly on Linux, then

the causes all sound really random, but one thing that struck me was the fact that the game crashed while changing your sens. Are you on Wayland by any chance? It might be possible that libSDL2 has some issues setting the sens on Wayland, so the game thus crashes. if you are on Wayland, try using this envvar to run TF2's SDL2 stuff in a Xorg server (Xwayland):

for soldiers and demos, endif on a low ping MGE server. you've now went from predicting arcs and trajectories to also predicting movement and strafing - big step-up, but crucial

this is a great project! really simplifies the crosshair configuration process. however, this application only works on Windows. I'd be willing to work on a Qt app which could hopefully make this cross-platform, but I'd like to know about your experience with the development of the existing app beforehand. thanks!
