“hey mom… I just won a trip to the United States for a TF2 1v1 tournament.”
Like what!?
For years the question has echoed through MGE servers: which region has better MGE, NA or EU?
We’ve seen enough elo screenshots and heard enough stories about forum legends who supposedly win every duel ever played. Now it’s time to prove it.
The European 1v1 Championships will take place April 11–12, featuring some of the strongest duelists Europe has to offer… or at least the ones brave enough to leave the comfort of their UGC MGE elo.
Only one player will earn the right to represent Europe in the ultimate NA vs EU showdown with an all expenses paid trip to LAN in the United States.
And before the MGE goblins start theorycrafting their cave strats,
- No un-adding
- No reserve shooter
- All arenas have been specially curated and modified for competitive play
Check the arenas out here https://drive.google.com/drive/folders/1fynY17woQYoCEyqGyqg73yMMeq3ODqGy
Qualifications:
- ETF2L premier medalist or
- MGE 2v2 prem medalist or
- You think you’re a top 5 mger in the world
Ask me on discord if you want to play: drago9773
Dates: April 11-12
Start time: 19 CET / 1pm EST on Fireside Casts
Discord: https://mge.tf/discord
Whitelist: https://whitelist.tf/18462
Classes: Scout, Soldier, Demo
Format: BO3 arenas, double elim bracket
Every match must be demo recorded
Arena 1
- Node
Arena 2 (pick/bans phase)
Player B bans 1 —> Player A picks 1
- Enclave
- Gullymid rework
- Ammomod (primary locked)
Arena 3 (pick/bans phase)
Player A bans 1 —> Player B picks 1
- Blands Mid rework
- Product Mid
- Blands Spire (soldier locked)
The winner receives an all-expenses-paid trip to the MGE LAN in the United States July 25 (flight, hotel, and food covered).
All participants will receive a MGE.tf 1v1 World Championship participation medal.
We will host a Russian play-in to determine 1 Russian representative in the European championship.
Due to current visa challenges, it’s unlikely a Russian player would be able to attend if they win. We’ll support attempts to secure a visa through another country if possible, but it’s unlikely. If the attendance still isn’t possible, the LAN spot will pass to the next eligible player. Even if the Russian representative cannot attend, their results will still provide meaningful context for comparing international strength. And if a Russian does win and cannot attend I will probably deduct $50 from each of the top 4 placers at LAN and award the Russian player $200.

MGE League is back with a new season, a new format, and a new region!
We are introducing the 1v1 format to make it’s debut with the Asia region.
There will be 1v1 and 2v2 leagues in North America, Europe and Asia. The league will have multiple divisions and run for 7 weeks + playoffs. You will be fighting for cash prizes and medals.
This isn’t pub MGE though. Matches are scheduled and tracked, meaning no unadding opponents and no dodging matches. We will have brand new arenas and a strict whitelist, so the best player truly wins. Check out the rules and format at https://mge.tf/rulebook. Just mechanics, movement and raw DM.
This is for brand new players, 6s or HL players just trying to improve, and top MGE Lords.
Sign up solo for the 1v1 League if you don’t have any friends or grab a friend and signup for 2v2 and start training.
If you have any questions, hop on over to the discord https://mge.tf/discord
Signups are open now at https://mge.tf until April 5.
There will be brand new arenas as well as reworked existing ones. The map is called mge_rework_a2 here
https://na.serveme.tf/maps
Badlands middle for example the valley is made smaller and the walls of the houses were removed to prevent toxic gameplay and prolonged games, and the house spawn was taken away. Check it out on that map, altho all those arenas are still a work in progress.

Last year, the entire world watched kobe1920 destroy the best in North America and Europe. But that was online. And EU had 100+ ping.
Not this time.
THE 2026 1v1 MGE.tf World Championships WILL BE PLAYED ON LAN
The event will be held July 25 in Philadelphia, at the same venue and date as the RGL LAN during a dedicated time slot.
To qualify we are hosting online regional championships in Europe and North America. The European Champion will carry the weight of all of Europe on their shoulders and receive a fully paid trip to the United States for LAN (flight + hotel + spending stipend covered by MGE.tf).
For North America, 1st and 2nd place will secure a spot.
And kobe1920, the reigning champ, will have a chance to defend his title should he choose to.
1st: $1000
2nd: $500
3rd: $300
4th: $200
Important Dates
- EU Championship (online): April 11-12
- NA Championship (online): June 6-7

Brimstonelook i get this is a Big Deal but do these have to be a new thread every time? you're already updating the main thread every time anyways
Fair enough. The intent is to be extra transparent with the open qualifiers since most of these players have little to no 6s experience so this space gives the opportunity for people to voice any concerns, and not have any surprises when a mystery 'mge' player beats some of the pros.
Two updates!
Send has been selected as the third qualifier for a spot in the main event from the Open Qualifiers
https://www.teamfortress.tv/65817/send-is-pulled-up-as-the-third-qualifier
and Yumyum & Kobe, as leaders of the each group, drafted and seeded players for Day 1. The Round 1 matchups can be found here https://mge.tf/WorldChampionship/2025
Send got 3rd/4th in Qualifier 1, and 2nd in Qualifier 2, which makes him the next in line to be pulled up to the main event of the $5000 1v1 World Championship. Send has been a member of the MGE.tf community for over a year and participated in the early 2v2 cups. He is also 2472 elo on UGC-MGE. We are aware of his ban from 2020 and have discussed the ban with him, and have had no issues with him as a member in our community.

With his original ban being over 5 years ago, he will be allowed to play in the tournament.

Higher just won qualifier #2, the two Open Qualifier spots have been filled
Higher (wqya, 2407 elo) has just secured first place in Qualifier 2
A familiar face in the MGE scene, Higher competed in our third 2v2 MGE Cup over a year ago with Rive. Since then, Higher has been a consistent top placer in our 1v1 events winning first place in the All-Class Tournament (defeating Yumyum in the grand finals), second in the Demo Tournament (losing to Tavion), and second in the Scout Tournament (losing to Yumyum). Now after losing in Qualifier 1 to Hallu in the grand finals, he just won Qualifier 2 and secured a spot in the Main Event.

It's time to see how these two MGE Lords, Hallu and Higher, stack up against 30 of the top 6s players.
