SmesiEoNSwedish org sponsor a team with 0 scandinaviansTeam Solomid is a american org and they sponsored a dannish csgo team not so long ago
G2 is a spanish org and they've sponsored a csgo teams with no spaniards on them
and fnatic is a swedish org and they've sponsored east-asian dota teams before

fnatic is a british org, but yeah your point still stands. Their very successful csgo team has found a lot of success with their swedish lineups so that might be what you were thinking of.

#5 TF2 player profiles in TF2 General Discussion
micspamAre there more than 5 people worth doing a profile on who are currently playing?

it isnt about doing the best players it is about doing the players who have been around and have some history of which their are plenty im sure, i can think of more than 5 for just europe.

For example in the csgo ones they did tarik recently, who neither plays on a top tier team nor been around as long as some players. According to liquidpedia he has only been active in the pro scene for 2-3 years.

flufI wish NA could do some version of this like regions or cities

UGC did a highlander event like that
http://www.ugcleague.net/forum/showthread.php?48415-Region-Wars-Signups

If you want a 6s one why dont you run it. If you put enough effort in events can be very popular even if they arent run by a "big" league. Just look at the current 2v2 cup going on.

I got an AOC G2460FQ for about £140 last black friday, which isnt the best monitor but for 30% less of the cost of a xl2411z it was well worth it.

DarkNecridin the game in every major format. In 12v12 if people are actually trying Pyro is pointless, pretty much every high end Highlander team would remove Pyro first if they had to drop a single class and were forced to play 8v8, barely anyone uses Pyro ever in high end 6v6, Pyro is even worse in a no restrictions 6v6.

I agree pyro needs no nerf, but spy would probably be most teams 1st class they would remove, denying ubers is good, even though that is the only thing that pyro can do

#89 The Highlander Open #2 Sponsored in TF2 General Discussion

I knew posting a highlander event on a 6s forum wouldnt go down well but I didnt expect this much hate. Play video games have fun, the point of these cups is to introduce people to the fun that can be had with comp tf2. if people check this thread and see a bunch of salty arguments i dont think they will feel inspired to sign up to any form of tf2. Let alone which kind you think is "better". This event is happening, 6s events will happen in the future, please dont try destroy one gamemode because you support the other.

The whitelist is based on ETF2L season 10. If there are any balance changes either before or during the event then the whitelist will be reviewed. But unless that happens the ETF2L whitelist will be used.

nopeIf this was a 6s cup you'd be lucky to get 40 teams signed up, much less 400. Most pubbers hate 6s until they actually play it just because it gets shittalked so much. This is a good initiative, hope it does well. I would offer to mentor a team but I don't think it's worth it to play med on 350 ping :<

You dont have to play medic for the team you mentor, you can help them in other ways demo reviews map talks etc. If a buddy wants to play however they are limited to medic.

I would offer to mentor a team but I don't think it's worth it to play med on 350 ping :<There was Archimedes cup, which is basically "6s Open", and I'm sure there were more than 40 teams.

While the Archimedes cup did get more than 40 teams it got 128, it got less teams than the last highlander open which had 256 teams and more signup that did not get to play. Not to say that a 6s newbie cup will not do well, but people saying if we did a 6s event it would be more successful are not looking at the evidence.

This combined with the fact that we did a newbie 6s event mroe recently than a highlander one are the reasons why this summer we are running a Highlander event.

Remember there will be plenty of 6s over the summer for players new to competitive tf2 and veterans to watch with i58 and the nations cup.

#1 The Highlander Open #2 Sponsored in TF2 General Discussion

https://i.imgur.com/1j02VjI.png

Hello everybody,

Introducing The Highlander Open #2, an introduction for non-competitive players into the comp scene or for those wanting to get into league-style competitive TF2 in a simple manner sponsored by Essentials.tf & Whitelist.tf.

And what exactly is this, we hear you ask? Well check out our fantastic and visually pleasing Highlander Open Page! It contains all the basics about what exactly the Highlander format is, and essential (light) reading for all who want to get involved.

This tournament is meant for people who are new to competitive play, a competition to find the very best pub team essentially. People with prior experience within competitive will potentially get set to only be allowed as a buddy. Buddy's can play medic for teams or just be there as a mentor/ to help with organisation. More info on this can be found in the Highlander Open FAQ.

If you are a lone player wanting to get into a team or if you want to get more players for your own team, check out the Recruitment Section. If you are a team looking to get a buddy, load up the forum and ask away.
What exactly is Highlander?

We still have a more extensive guide lying around which goes over most of the highlander information. This guide is slightly outdated but can still be found here, highlander guide written by kKaltUu and Wiethoofd. Russian version translated by irfx.

#94 DHS2016 GF: Perilous Gaming vs. nameLess in Matches
GetawhaleJust1sEven after those matches in ETF2L top players still tought of nameLess as one of the favourites of this lan. And also perilous didn't do that well. Yes they won, but some maps were very close and as casters said they could've easily lost some of them. So I really don't see how nameLess were been underdogs.
One of the favorites. Perilous just finished the season at 10-0, with nameLess finishing 7-3. Regardless of how a team is regarded or thought of, it's tough to go on anything other than the tables, since the teams didn't face each other during the regular season. I'm not agreeing or disagreeing with the handicap.. and the lineups were slightly different for LAN. But that might help explain it a bit.

Small point the season isnt over and the two teams havent played each other, yes nameless has lost points but two of their three losses were on product, which is apparently a weak map for them now, and reckoner a new map.

I dont know which team was the favourite just pointing out a few errors and giving context for your statement.

#9 Schedule & Poster for TF2 Invitational at DreamHack Summer by Sweetstakes.tf & Plantronics in News

Does the winner of the upper bracket final get an advantage over the team that came up from the lower bracket, like a map advantage in the best of 5?

Edit: I see on the toonament page that the winners bracket team gets to do both map bans.
