Didn't the same thing happen to MF DOOM? Pretty silly that people who are clearly brought up American who are really from another country can be done over like this. Especially when their country of origin is the UK.

ESL EU 6on6 Community Cup #1

Mitch_I understand that cups for the long term aren't very popular, but if people keep playing them for enough time we can say "okay we're seeing a stable number of teams in these cups, I think it's time to add a league (or something of the sort)."
If there's no other path then you've done your best. I'll most likely be attempting to sign up a team to each cup, team/scrim scheduling permitting.

No one in this community likes cups. Essentials cups barely had signups, and that had a far superior prize pool. Not trying to shit on your efforts, Mitch, I just feel that most of it is going to go to waste, unfortunately. I don't think the people in this community would play these even if they knew that it would get us long-term support from ESL.
I was following most your ESL related posts but I think you should have attempted to take a different route if you had the chance considering this community's past with cups, not saying that this is the case obviously as I don't know the full details of your communication with ESL.
I say all this as a person that enjoyed participating in cups and signed up to all bar one of the essentials cups. If my team doesn't want to play this cup I'll most likely end up signing up with a mix team.
Hopefully I'm wrong and this becomes a successful endeavour for which ESL will ramp up their TF2 operations, I'm just not optimistic.
