muhate that they removed exp gains from invasions.

hyped for legion though, add me if you want to play! mubug#1889

there's a technique you can do to exploit the current system. through this method I went from level 17-50 in about three hours.

1. zone into an invasion zone by yourself. you should be in stage 1.
2. tag everything once (i.e. spam moonfire, shadow word pain, etc). continue tagging every mob through the end of stage 2.
3. as soon as stage 2 ends immediately exit combat and log out. immediately log back in and you should be in stage 1 again.
4. rinse and repeat.

definitely use heirlooms and xp potions if you can. there's a potion that grants 300% xp gain for 15 minutes but it sells for 10k each on mal'ganis @_@

also watch twitch while you do this cause it's grindy as hell lol

#26 ESEA Invite Season 22 recap in News

Another way you can do that makes it a little more balanced is to give the UBF winning team (i.e. froyo) a 1-0 lead in the first bo3. It's an advantage that isn't too large to overcome. The downside is that it puts less emphasis on winning the UBFs, but you still get an advantage.

#24 TF2esports Episode #3 This Friday! in TF2 General Discussion
flufIs it important for the future of tf2 for every region to be using the same rule sets? If so what region is using the better rule set or is there a rule set we haven't disscovered yet?

yeah we discussed this one a bit last time but i think we ended up basically saying that TF2 can't decide on the ruleset it wants. you think it'd be obvious (current ESEA rules) but i think if we unban all of the weapons then there's room for adjusting the class limits. bottom line is that we don't think that the optimal ruleset has been found yet and it will take time for valve to balance the weapons in a way that makes ESEA players happy.

in my opinion the first step though is for us to take a look at next season's ban list and reevaluate in such a way that we unban as many weapons as possible.

#18 TF2 update for 8/14/16 (8/15/16 UTC) in TF2 General Discussion
Pendji"You won, so you'll get an update in the future".

Fan-fucking-tastic valve. Instead of rotating class updates, we have to fight for one, and it's not even certain.

#255 faceit TF2 in TF2 General Discussion

I'm having a hard time understanding why I would want to play in this system other than "for the good of TF2". What is the motivation behind playing here? Is it to play against players of a similar skill level? How good is the ranking system? Are the queue times faster than that of other systems? Are the servers of higher quality than other services?

If I'm a casual/pub player or new to comp, I'll probably just play the integrated matchmaking system because it's better than getting stomped by competitive players in a pug. If I'm a middle-of-the-road comp player I might hopefully get matched against players of a similar skill level but then again I might just be better off playing in-house pugs or lobbies where I can guarantee that I get my desired class. And if I'm a higher level player I'll probably just play PugChamp because the games will be balanced and I know what I'm getting.

I'm not trying to poopoo the system, but rather approach it from the perspective of a competitive player in the community. If you want me to play, you have to be providing me with value. The system itself has to be better than the other options that are out there because offering me points for CS:GO weapons or t-shirts won't cut it. This is the reason why so many other systems from other companies have failed to create good pug systems for TF2 -- the community-created systems are just better.

Right now the system is in beta. I get it. But the queue times have been long and from what I'm hearing the games aren't as good as PugChamp. If it ends up being good I'll probably play it after it's out of beta because I don't want to wait all night to play a game of 6v6.
