Can anyone camera man? I'd be willing to help cover it if anyone cares for it but my stream quality is bad during those hours.
some people have been trying to remake warmfront -- i'd like to see a few changes made and then have it put back into the rotation.
All set!
Make sure to do the following:
1. Go to Twitch.TV
2. Click your NAME at the top
3. Navigate to SETTINGS
4. Click the TEAMS tab and accept your invitation
Happy Streaming!
nobody ever quits tf2
Insane in the membrane
A change to heavy isn't as big as a change to the entire metagame lol
milehighmilitiaall i was trying to say was that there was no reason to stray away from the already established method of the invite captains voting on the weapon bans. Killing did not need to do this ban ahead of schedule without a proper vote, if he truly talked to invite captains at LAN then their opinions would still have been equally valid when the weapon ban vote came around.
...then again it allows the teams in all of the divisions to take the next couple weeks to practice with the correct weapon ruleset? it's a pretty big difference between the two medic weapons
hookyValve doesn't balance for 6s, they balance for pubs, which is probably something like 95% of their playerbase, with traders being 4.99% and competitive players the rest.
In that same patch was a nerf to the Escape Plan...I'm pretty sure that nobody in pubs cares.
boomerBenson-have people forgotten how bad the lan was in general it wasn't just the gullywash match that was bad, How people enjoy playing/watching quick fix is beyond me
Nearly every player I spoke to at lan about it wants it banned.
It's fine that it's banned, but banning the Quick Fix is also a tragedy for Medic mains around the world. I believe that the TF2 dev team originally made the change to the QF (among other weapons) to benefit 6v6, and hopefully they will be able to find some sort of middle ground that allows us to bring it back into the game at a later point.
10:06 PM - PYYYOUR: FREEH THE QUICK FIX 2013!
In all seriousness though, I'm not sure I agree with the choice to ban the Quick Fix for Season 15, and I would like more transparency or insights into how the decision was made and who ultimately contributed to the decision.
As far as the actual decision goes, I am indifferent. A lot of people are upset about it, a lot of people are happy, but here's the facts:
1. The ruling would apply to ESEA EU Season 1. European TF2 players who aren't used to the QF would have to get used to it quickly, and it would completely change their game as it currently stands.
2. QF is currently stronger than the Medigun.
3. I'm really sorry about what I said during the ESEA LAN cast. I didn't mean to influence the community's decision regarding weapon bans, and criticizing the game in that way wasn't positively contributing towards the casting of that particular match or the LAN overall.
Still, I think that the discussion that occurred on these forums would have occurred whether Blank and I said something or not...so to pin the ban on us is a bit unfair.
The weapon does need some more time to marinate with the TF2 communities around the world, however. I'm glad that it was allowed this season/LAN, as we would have never seen just how far these teams would take it without ESEA's (temporary) endorsement. This will likely again stir up some conversation about how we as a community handle weapon bans and on what grounds we ban weapons.
I'm all for the weapon as long as it keeps the game flowing and moving. If it's going to degenerate into heavy play then everyone will be upset, but what we saw in the grand finals on Sunday was great, exciting gameplay from both teams using the Quick Fix. I have no doubt that if the QF was unbanned we would continue to see the metagame develop into a positive experience.
If nothing else, the Quick Fix increases the skill cap for Medics, and that can only do good things for the game. While I think that we have to take measures to defend the 6v6 game as it currently stands for both the gameplay experience and the viewership experience, I'd hope that we could learn to incorporate the Quick Fix in the long run.
