VirulenceIn addition to shutting down Scouts, it denies explosive jumpers as well. In a game of mobility, it's zero fun.

I can understand this, but it can be destroyed relatively easy and isn't nearly as good at denying jumpers as, say, a regular Sentry or Heavy.

TerywjLet's not forget that even if you do quickly dispose of the mini right away, the Engineer can just build another because it's that convenient.

And then it gets destroyed while building for three seconds, or shortly after and the Engineer can't build another because of 0 metal. Convenient, but when an Engineer is under pressure, he has a tough time building another.

Honestly, before people figured out how to abuse dual Gunslingers, a single Gunslinger didn't seem so bad.

Is the main reason it's banned really because it annoys Scouts so much? I don't really understand any other reason because it's only one Engy that were talking about here.

DeepCompletely shuts down scouts and flanks, can build one in about a second. Are extremely annoying and slow down the fast CP game.

I wouldn't say that a single mini completely shuts down scouts and flanks. Moreso that it adds some protection against them at the cost of picking power and speed and survivability.

Especially when it's only one Engineer. Are single Gunslingers really that bad? Didn't seem so before it was banned. If there was two... yeah, complete shut down. That is why it was banned, right?

Don't take me wrong here, I'm mostly asking for a reason but I'd also like to see part-time Gunslinger use again, as that adds Teleporters and Dispensers to the matches too.

Since ESEA limited Engineer to one, what are the chances of the Gunslinger being unbanned?

If I recall correctly, it was banned after dual Gunslingers proved to be a very formidable defense, almost as strong as dual Heavies. Could be wrong.

@TMP: Could you make sure that someone is streaming the match? I wanted to watch some of your scrims a few days ago but couldn't because no one was streaming.

MunchHonestly, as stupid as the wrangler is, without it engie would probably be pretty much irrelevant in almost every gametype except for payload and A/D and ctf.

Not saying it should be allowed, but that's probably the main reason behind it being allowed.

I think you mean Wrench/Jag engie (Gunslinger engie would operate just fine without his inflatable heavies) but regular engie would be used where he is now, just without a "secondary" that makes his sentry into a tank/death machine.

Highlander may not *be* a pub, but the classes used, the (nonexistent) weapon restrictions, the playstyles and the pacing are all very remniscent of a pub. This is be a good thing as it has allowed HL to grow as big as it has gotten.

I'm not looking for a fight, but HL is more like organized pubbing than not imo.

eI don't understand why all this butthurt is happening who cares its HL even if theyre invite in 6s that shouldn't mean much for HL since most of the garbage players in HL think they can play high open/IM from a season of plat on pyro.

Just cheer up and play for hats and medals like everyone else in HL

Not sure why people are -fragging this. I don't see a problem with it... heck I agree with it from what I've seen of lower level HL players.

TacoYou said kirbyif you have fun playing hl then great, have fun and talk about it. but i don't see why it's suddenly a big deal when it's the opposite and shitty to mention it.
When you said "when it's the opposite and shitty to mention it" I'm pretty sure you meant that HL was the opposite of fun and is shitty to talk about.
Now if you meant something else by your quote then my bad, but it doesn't look like it lol

Though I may not be Taco, I'm very certain that this is one small misunderstanding on your part as what I've drawn from the original quote was that "Why do HL players make it out to be a big deal if people post their dislike of the HL format?" and not "HL is shitty."
