it's kinda on the fence I think but I think its technically legal

like obviously it's pretty far over the line to basically make an article calling some guy a racist over some reddit comments since it paints a huge target on his back. but technically theres no law about reporters naming names if they aren't making shit up, and thet did dig through his post history and find racist comments (regardless of whether or not hes just shitposting they can portray it as serous as they want).

the comment about reserving the right to give out his identity is where any legal issue can come up since it might be blackmailing or harassment. since the primary intent seems to just be to shame him after the dispute is (supposedly) settled, and there are obviously huge consequences for a news org to name you as a racist to the entire country. but idk im not a lawyer so maybe its legal.

regardless it's still ridiculously petty and unwarranted for them to be focusing on the guy who made the meme in the first place.

nerfling max sticks placed instead of clip size would be more in line with making it an offensive sticky launcher. maybe also having a cap to the number of sticks it can destroy at once (if not removing that part altogether). i also thought the old charge values were more sensible but idk.

on that note though, clip size seems to be a good way to force a stickylauncher to be used more defensively without directly hurting its combat ability. i think the scottish resistance would be in a much better spot if its downside was clip size rather than a long arm time (would probably need to lose the fire rate buff too). at least then you could follow up on your traps like stock can.

Spy was doomed from his inception since a class that relies on awareness and surprise is always gonna be disproportionately better against low skill players, which means its hard to buff him without making him too strong in pubs.

@miggy if youre not already past the point of just dealing with it id consider trying different meds. I tried ritalin, concerta, and strattera when i was younger and had side effects like that with all. Focalin ended up being one that worked really well for me without zombifying my brain. Can be a pain or expensive to try them out depending on your situation but there may be something that helps with mininal side effects. Edit: also lowering dosages can really help with that too obv.

quad is busted as ever and if it wasnt for its history in quake i think that 2-3x wouldve been a far more balanced powerup. shorter duration could also work i guess.

sacrifice is interesting but i find it generally less fun than tdm. also the spawns are kinda fucked. it doesnt seem to really bias the spawns in response to the objective states, or even do as much as face you towards it, which is something a lot of shooters with these types of spawns tend to do just to nudge the team toward the same goal. so teams of randoms really dont ever get coordinated in my experience. also it spawned me facing a lava pit once.

pretty ambitious considering its just wireplay rules with pick/bans tmu, which is a format that had a league that died due to sheer unpopularity. but like if he wants to fund it himself then he can knock himself out.

got kinda fuckin preachy towards the end though. hes gonna be really disappointed when he learns that most of the people who vehemently flame the concept of a meta dont actually like playing competitive games that much.

Hildreth@Kav - Fun is a very objective way at looking at it, plenty of people don't enjoy the crossbow and have stated so yet you use it as an argument to keep it in. Your logic isn't adding up to me.

I don't want the weapon to be banned specifically, I think it adds a lot to the game and I'd prefer to see the Medic given an extra mechanic but it's just TOO good is the argument against. If we applied this weapon to the same logic that we apply to the Vitasaw it would be banned, but this weapon gets some sort of special treatment because it's well liked by a core group of people - It needs to be changed somehow. We're banning weapons way less impactful on the game than this like the Vaccinator and the Rescue Ranger.

i think you mean subjective but its not really what i meant. all i was really getting at was that being the best option alone shouldnt make something banworthy. i dont even disagree with the rest of what you said, and wasnt arguing to keep/ban it either way. just that there are so many items that are run full-time and it doesnt really get the point across to use it as a justification for a ban.

like the vita saw is more than just best in slot. it gimps the medic in return for reducing the penalty of death. its entirely passive and equalizes skill levels between teams. theres the combination of reasons that led to people wanting vita saw banned beyond just being the best medic melee.

and while fun is obviously not a measurable factor, theres not really any good term to generalize a good or bad impact on the meta (e.g. stuff like "slowing the game down") which are still a big part of why things tend to get banned. i mean bans used to rely a lot on votes in na for that reason at least.

a weapon being best in slot is a total non-issue.

if something gets banned for being overpowered it should be because it makes a single player too impactful without being any more fun (like with the wrangler) not because its better than other loadout options.

the whole theme of the weapon is to be useful when swapped to but worse as a general use weapon. i think that if they replaced minicrits with something that was harder but more rewarding to good aim then it could be fine. E.g. tighter spread that gets wider the longer you have the gun out.

but like as long as airblast stuns then pretty much any attempt to make it take skill is flawed.
