As part of the "casual players" group, it was definitely a fun few nights with the boys to play and see how the map took shape over a few iterations.

I don’t think I missed it above, sorry if it’s already been brought up.
A big factor for the niche afps or older ones is the sheer difficulty involved with the installation, setup, and optimization process. Cpma alone has that as a barrier just to play games and pickups, I can only imagine the same with others like AG. Other games like QL or reflex can feel awful until you find some perfect (or best) balance you can implement. Even then, it feels like some optimization is incredibly hard to come across. It’s not at the level of being gatekept, but you certainly need to know folks in the community who have extensive knowledge (thanks *xe for your cpma archives lol).
These games aren’t one-click install, plug & play, and most of the older ones aren’t click to search either which makes the overall process such a chore for any player, new or old. I can’t imagine trying to explain IRC or pre-discord rituals people did to find games to the modern gamer. Also good luck trying to get into some of the older scenes, you will either be accused of being an alt, or face uphill battles until you make it enough to hold your own. Best advice to anyone who’s been trying is to find said game’s discord or active platform, as the remaining players there are usually engaging enough to work with new players (reflex for instance hosting newbie cups). Lastly, some comments about youth sucking, I fear those kovaak prodigies lol, seen so many of those young players who grinded out aims scenarios and hit 40-50 lg acc steadily.
Very impressive, thanks DJ BIG GYG. We gave it the old college attempt but master class came through. Yea lol we cba for the log scraping, so we started it off with just testing if raw pasting could even work the way we wanted. I guess from here it’s just fixing up scores, maybe toggling options to see how heals received/DTM or other variables can better represent performance in a stat-driven world
MelonssLilliyaWill there be combined stats for all games played or is it just week by week? For now, it's week by week. Though possible, adjusting our current functions to account for the data in 16+ matches as opposed to 2 is a nightmare. Never say never, but as it stands, a combined season page would likely require a complete rewrite.
It really comes down to if I play 2 hours of q3practice with freeman or if we just bite the bullet one night
EDIT: this can and will happen (amphi ctf and the edits to account for a season-wide comparison). While ball is life, I can get this approved by the wife
LF more criticism and viewpoints to further modify this. I hope this post is RGL-safe as I'm still banned lol
Scouty is a certified melonspugs survivor, I only have good to say about him.
Solid gamer, fun to play both tf2 and other games with. He's definitely worth it now that he's not driven away by work or other commitments
this guy's free from gaming restrictions again, try him out
Dalenu's a great pickup, I watched him change over demo reviews, map reviews, and throughout the season to help him win main. Great attitude, fun to play other games with, would try this man out
Poliphobia's great, almost never missed scrims and always showed up ready for games and review. That's in addition to his solid mechanics, try him out
He's a positive-attitude player with really good mechanics, the sort of guy to stay in voice after Ws and Ls
I'll sub
Worth a tryout, devoted guy with a positive attitude, crazy jumps, and killer aim

In addition to being a great player with solid mechanics, he also kept his cool throughout the season. He's definitely the best medic I've played with
This juju guy's ok in mge.. in the couple seasons I've subbed, he always stays after scrims/matches to discuss anything that went wrong and how to move forward.
He's made some progress in fixing up his personality, I definitely would try this man out.
