#46 Let's keep this going. in TF2 General Discussion

Now I am wondering if you need a passport for US to Canada travel. I was only 19ish the last time I went to Canada and all 5 people in the car did not have passports, even though they were required. Is it more enforced now?

Well, there is this coming to Columbus, Ohio. While it's MLG, at least it's something for Ohio.

#6 Good Cheap Mic? Got $50. in Hardware

Zalman mic

It's not expensive and it works very well. If you're only using it for gaming then you really don't need a $50 mic.

#23 College Gaming Plans in Off Topic

I've said this many times with this kind of thread, but paper and pen will force you to make better notes in class. A laptop means that you're able to get sidetracked into reddit, tf.tv, whatever, but if you refuse to bring it, you're forced to pay more attention.

Regarding laptop vs desktop in your dorm. It's cheaper, and generally better, to get a desktop. The cost is less, and it's not very difficult to transport as long as someone is driving it there. If you have to Fedex/UPS, then that could be a different story.

"good grades / job / enough sleep / gaming / social life"

It's likely that all of those won't happen.

Well, the glue would still be there since you don't want to use rubbing alcohol, but I don't think that little bit of glue will change much.

Can it be more Dystopian, or does it actually have to live up to the American dream?

#1 How is Cevo doing? in TF2 General Discussion

I am just wondering how the league turned out, and the predictions for next seasons are shaping? Are teams trying to make a dual league or it going back to ESEA? I am just asking since it's the only league that I could even play now,

Yes, many people will shit on me for this thread, but after almost two months I actually feel really good again to get over the loss. I still, and always will, love the game but I made huge mistakes during my grief stages. Hate me, like me, who cares at this point, just wamt to know what's up with Cevo :P

#116 Girl gamer shows cat on stream; almost goes blind. in Off Topic

Little late to the party, but it completely depends on the cat. More importantly, is how the cat views you as the owner. My cat, Sephiroth, doesn't care if I kiss his nose, or if I rub his belly. But I would not advice that for anyone else.

#93 Swatting- who to blame? in Off Topic
kuzasamjain98If you don't know what swatting is, here.
But could one also say that the police are to blame as well?
I respect that they're doing their job by taking the "threat" seriously, but with all the resources and technology the government has at its fingertips, shouldn't one be able to count on them to know what exactly is going on?

Thoughts?

What "technology the government has at its fingertips" are you referring too? How is every department of every jurisdiction across the whole US going to keep track of who's streaming and who could possibly the target of a prank? How are they supposed to know who or what is inside every person's house the moment a call comes in to accuse them of something. Is there a spy cam in every house? It's no different then the fire department, they have to respond to a call even if they believe it's a false alarm.

To me, it's not about reaction to the call, but rather after they are already there. Let's say they get a call for a hostage situation, which is what I understand they came from the video, yet they see no of that when they get there. Why would they still detain the person(s) for time that those officers can see is a lie. It's not like they found any guns, people, or anything to make that assumption, then what is the point of keeping them in jail for any amount of time?

#90 Swatting- who to blame? in Off Topic
lexsWithADanceNumberAntaresIt's all fun and games until someone gets shot..Losing your chance at future job applications sure is fun and games. Getting humiliated in front of a live audience is fun and games. Having you family/friends/co-workers/lover find out you got raided by a SWAT team fun and games.

Yup, sounds fun to me.
I dont quite understand, he didnt do anything, on what grounds is he losing his chance at a future job?

At least in the US, an arrest is public information. Add in "newspapers" like busted, that only show the mugshots and why they were arrested before finding out if they are guilty or not, will always be with the person that was arrested.

#36 Swatting- who to blame? in Off Topic

This is not even remotely funny, or even something to take lightly. Think of it from a POV from someone that is getting their house raided. They are likely spending multiple days in a jail, but they now need a lawyer in most cases. This shit is honestly a little bit scarey.

On the plus side, if you got into a fight with another person at i52, you wouldn't get a felony charge like in the USA. :)

Oh yeah, a lot of people have said that you will drink a lot of coffee. Be careful about that, for some people drinking coffee is a trigger.
