#4 Kill feed [Original hud] in Customization

I'm interested in this too. I found this: http://gaming.stackexchange.com/questions/28438/is-there-a-way-to-increase-the-number-of-items-displayed-in-the-kill-feed

However I'm unsure if it's required to pull the original hudlayout.res from TF2 or if I can just create a new one with just the HudDeathNotice block.

#11 Scout MGE DM vs Scrim/Match DM in Q/A Help

The point of MGE and DM is to put yourself in optimal DM situations constantly. That doesn't happen in actual matches/scrims. Not every fight happens on mid.

An E8200 would probably bottleneck a 550ti, wtf.

#7 Wanna buy 120hz monitor in Hardware
GeknaiirColors aren't actually bad for the Asus. They are a bit dimmer than preferred but it isn't hard to get used to it.

I still think the extra 24 hz isn't as good as lightboost but if you don't want to deal with lightboost then go with the 144hz.

You can use Lightboost on the Asus.

You can configure color settings like every other monitor in the world. Don't factor in color accuracy when you're buying a TN monitor.

#32 Lotus Clan Tournament in TF2 General Discussion
theparanoidandroidSimThe team is limited to having at most 2 ESEA Invite level players. An ESEA Invite level player is a player who is currently playing in, or has played in the past two seasons, in the ESEA Invite Team Fortress 2 6v6 league. This is to allow players with various skill levels to participate in the Tournament.
They predicted the coming of b4nny.
I tried to make the rules fair. Although I doubt b4nny will actually join this. ;)

(I'm the guy who wrote the rules, btw. Nice to meet you tf.tv!)

In all seriousness you should strongly consider picking a different time or doing separate tourneys for NA and Europe.

#50 TF2 Questions Thread in TF2 General Discussion
NeoziusI've made a separate thread for this problem but it couldn't hurt to post it here.

When the Scream Fortress 2013 update came out yesterday my TF2 was fine, but today my TF2 is now giving me 20 frames or less on every map I go on and I'm out of ideas on how to fix the issue.

So far i've tried: verifying my game cache, re-installing the game, running the game without my HUD and configs, disabled and enabled multicore rendering, run in dx8 and 9 (9 is what I run the game in by default anyway), running in windowed mode, checked dx levels 80-98, changed all my graphics settings in options from the reccomended settings to the ones on the fps config aswell as changing options on the nvidia control panel, enabled and disabled vsync, running in windowed mode, tried out every fps config from chris, defragging the TF2 files.

None of these fixes have worked for me so far. So if anyone can give me some suggestions i'd be very grateful.

Should also note that before this error I was getting around 200-400 frames but now I get around 100 on spawn then as I head outside into battlements/rest of the map my frames get lower than 20

This is better suited for its own thread. It'd be easier to help that way.

#20 BenQ xl2411t which cables for 120hz? in Hardware
the301stspartanWow looks like you are super duper lucky!
All you need now is a quality HDMI 1.4 cable, bad HDMI cables tend to produce piss poor images.
But it's still cheap. And you will be able to use lightboost without any hassle because your labtop has an nvidia gpu.

What are you talking about? HDMI cables are digital there's no difference between a $5 cable and this.

#9 4:3 Resolution in Customization
mthsadKwqPLwrite it in launch options -freq 140 .source takes the currently set refresh rate for the video card, that command does not do anything anymore.

Yes it does. -freq and -refresh still take priority over any setting in your OS/Drivers. I just launched TF2 @ 60Hz without doing anything but changing my launch options.

#22 Competitive Resolution? in Customization
Alykasome of them use crt so they can get 120 hz if their using 1024 x 768

Less people who stream at low 4:3 resolutions use CRT's than you'd think. Most streams I've seen are really just people who prefer low 4:3 res even on a BenQ/Asus. I tried it and it does make most textures look worse and increase visibilty/contrast a little. Some crosshairs have better contrast at lower res as well, but you still have to get used to the loss in FOV.

#20 how to not troubleshoot 101 in Hardware
Jstn7477Honestly, running a series of different games/benchmarks will be better for stability testing than running Prime95 or IntelBurnTest/LinX/etc. as a processor may be completely stable for that routine yet fall on its face and cause a BSOD very quickly in certain games.

I believe this is only true for GPU-based stress tests were tools like furmark don't load the GPU well/properly (supposedly damaging it as well) versus just using a heavy benchmark like Heaven bench.

#13 how to not troubleshoot 101 in Hardware

Run Prime95 for 30 minutes or so. If you don't blue screen/crash, run it overnight and see if it's still running in the morning. If it is, You can most likely rule out your CPU and RAM. That leaves your GPU and HDD as your most likely culprits with cable issues being less likely.
