Fricking weebs... kill me
Hey everyone!
We already had a map test cup and due to the delays caused by Copenhagen Games we do not have time for another one...
We decided to put cardinal into the map pool because it was the most promising out of the ones we recently tested.
While sunshine is a solid map, we felt like it does not have a unique feel to it (it falls in the bucket of process-esque maps) and there are still quite some players that deeply dislike it. The nail in the coffin (for S30 at least) was the fact that it is a final map, meaning it is not actually being developed anymore. While this is true for a number of maps in our pool, out of the final maps it is the weakest.
One could argue granary is also bad, but it is seeing some developement - whether for the better or worse we will have an eye on.
We have decided some time ago that we will always switch up the map pool by rotating at least 1 map in order to make it feel a little less stale. Playing, learning and understanding new maps is an important part of the competitive experience and we will hold on to this philosophy for the foreseeable future. Who knows, maybe after playing it more than once in a fun cup people will actually dig this map and the developer will gain enough feedback to make the necessary adjustments! Snakewater and process eventually became what one could refer to as "standart maps"... cardinal may be the next one. (:
Hope you will all sign up to the season and have a great time with your friends! <3
In b4nny's defence, I would probably declare Rewind the superior LAN too if it was only an hour drive from my home...
Looking for a PC that runs TF2 for me and my friend for a small fee and many hugs :3
maybe cu@?
Shoutout to Esport United. For the "average" streamviewer and LAN attendee it may seem like Kritzkast and Essentials carried the workload, but without them this LAN would have been nothing!
Shoutout to the TF2 staff. Crazy how much work was being done with this little sleep.
Shoutout to the caster setup that decided to not work anymore as soon as I sat down at the desk.
Shoutout to shoutouts.
- Updated tournament info
—> final mappool
—> formats for groupstage and knockouts ( 6v6 and Highlander)
- slightly changed the schedule (moved a HL round on Thursday to a later spot, thus 6v6 will start off the LAN with round 1 of groups)
- added tournament rules. We highly recommend every player - at least every team leader - to read through them!
Good evening!
We will not ban the aforementioned player right away. We will apply the rules and policies on this case like we have done in the past and thus act consistent in our ruling. Our last banpost was published on 9th march, which is fairly recent. We will ban the player for almost the entirety of season 30.
Please note that this is no "special treatment" of anyone. On the contrary: If we were to ban him right now, that would be a special treatment.
The player in question cannot simply blatantly cheat in his remaining playoff games. There are other ways to prove someone is cheating than watching a POV, it just makes things much easier. Furthermore, if he fails to upload again (and lets be honest, there will be demorequests in playoffs) then we will ban him for a whole year.
Is our policy perfect? No, but it is what has been applied for years and we are not going to change the rules right now. You never change a rule in order to apply it immediately. That is arbitrary and absolutely leads to total chaos and individual targetting. That being said, interesting points have been raised during this discussion. We are already and will be discussing ways to handle this differently - better - in future seasons and competitions. So thank you! (:
Cu@, Stinson_Out
HiipFirethis is lan will be way cheaper than i-series
Link me cheap hotel pls
Awesome work! 6000 €! Cu @
manaStinson...buddy...why'd you have to do this? Now I HAVE to slam this post. I have respect for what you do, and hey, if we're ever at the same event, drinks on me, but, I'm calling out what you said.
Stinson_OutAm I the only one who is happy about the fact that there is yet another TF2 event? As Toast said, people who preferingly play Highlander come to 6v6 LANs regardless because they want to hang out with their friends that they play with online week in and week out. Why cant it be the other way round?Yes, you are literally the only person in this whole world who's happy about it.
Of course not. Acting like a martyr in this post is not going to help your case, especially when you contradict yourself.
Stinson_OutI have honestly never wondered what gamemode is being played at a LAN when considering to attend. Logistics, accommodation, and in the end budget was always a far more important concern. I love TF2 and I couldnt care less if I am playing 9v9 or 6v6., LANs are awesome! Cu@!Haha, if you actually care about logistics, accommodations, and budget, then 9v9 is out of question. Mathematically, it doesn't add up to be cheaper. You can't be for 9v9 AND logistics. At this point in time, they're at odds with each other. Choose one, and be honest about it. Stop lying to yourself.
People here express their dislike of a 9v9 centric LAN (I don't, for the record; it's irrelevant to me), but, I don't think anyone but the most vocal would straight up DENY 9v9 players having a LAN. That's quite an extreme position to take, in my view.
Stinson_OutMy body is ready for the shit and the downfrags I am about to get for this.Sure, and deservedly so. But, it's because you're just ignoring the truth. Don't martyr yourself on this one.
I think you misunderstood. I was talking about the logistics of getting myself to LAN, not an entire Highlander team.
Tbf, I never said there wasn't gonna be a 6s LAN before summer insomnia and someone else posted my tweet into this (apparently essentials.tf related) thread about a LAN in Denmark...
