#6 Low fps on quite good laptop in Q/A Help
FakeCheck for background applications and see if any are misbehaving or using a lot of cpu.

lowering your resolution will help a bit too.

Disabling fullscreen optimizations works for a few extra fps in the compatibility tab of hl2.exe

No hats / cleantf2 can boost your fps too

Might be useful to know what frequency your GPU and CPU is when running tf2 use something like hwinfo64 and look at limit reasons for cpu/gpu. You may be power throttling instead of thermal.

You can try reinstalling windows, that might help.

If your ram isnt soldered, you can buy another stick of DDR3 for dual channel mode which can boost performance a lot if you're comfortable opening up your laptop and putting another stick in. Check with your laptop model if you can add another stick of ram in and what type you need.

If you are truly desperate (dont do this unless you know for sure what you are doing) but there was some old broadwell microcode that allowed you to set your cpu multiplier to any amount, allowing you to overclock your CPU. Don't do this unless you know exactly what you are getting yourself into. I dont know where this is and i suggest not doing it because you need extra cooling and it might reduce your laptops battery life.

Your pc is weak. It is a dual core with hyperthreading from 2015 with a max boost of 2.7GHz with probably stock speeds/timings on your RAM. If none of these work consider upgrading your pc. Hope something works out for you.

I installed clean tf2 and I have fps boost

#5 Low fps on quite good laptop in Q/A Help
mastercomsWhat launch options do you have?
What commands did you try?

You need to be specific, because some part of your set up might be harming performance.

If you are desperate for performance, you can reduce network processing by using the packet_rate=congestion module for mastercomfig.

I have yours launch options from guide on github (-novid -nojoy -nosteamcontroller -softparticlesdefaultoff -reuse -nohltv)
and I tried -high and -threads 4 but I didn't have fps boost

Could you send the launch options ?

I would be very happy if I did have fps boost.

#1 Low fps on quite good laptop in Q/A Help

Gpu:Nvidia geforce gtx 950m
cpu: intel core i5 5200u
ram: 8 gb

I have +130 fps on spawn but if I am in fight fps drop to 40.

cpu usage: 50%
gpu usage 30%

I don't know if it is normal that tf2 is using only half of cpu. The temps are ok. I noticed the all thread is used in 50%.

I have tried everything(Not to mention simple things like setting "high performance" in power plan) :
I used - autoconfig
I used setting the highest graphics
I used mastercomfig (the difference between ultra graphics and mastercomfig low is small (20-30 fps)
I used lots of launch options
I used "core unparking"
I disabled steam beta
I enabled "maximum performance" in nvidia control panel
I tried lots of commands
I reinstalled tf2
I have the last drivers

Some time ago I had TF2 really more fps.

PLEASE HELP
