ScrewballConsole300 frames when nothing is happening is irrelevant. My 8350 machine can have drops into the 80s on particularly badly optimized maps during mid fights or pubs when SHTF.
no, 300 in fights? I might dip down to 200 during uber trades or in 24/32 man pubs. Keep in mind I'm not playing at native 1080p and using a config. Using an r7 250, maybe that's where the difference is (even though this game isnt GPU intensive)
That's besides the point anyways, the Pentium would still be a very good price/performance option for tf2 compared to FX CPUS
the Intel Pentium G4500 could be a decent pickup for tf2. I have an fx-6300 that can push 300 frames at low settings 720p, and the G4500 has better single-threaded performance. It also gives you a lot of upgradability in the future CPU-wise being on the LGA1151 socket, depending on the motherboard you pick up with it. It also happens to be about 25% cheaper new on newegg
Edit: I cant spell

Daily tourney going in an hour, join up
Go with the 280 pros like listed above. Had my pair for years and the only problem I'm starting to have is the earpads are starting to tear apart pretty badly. Bassy sounds come through especially well, and overall sound comes through really clearly. They're pretty comfortable on my head, and they've held up really well and can take a hell of a beating. If you use sound queues for anything in game you can soundwhore really well (especially when trying to listen for subtle things like uber masks or footsteps).
Best headset I've owned, grab 'em if you want decent quality headphones.

But isn't ETF2L also F2P?
I think he was referring to NA solutions (since NA players who can't/won't pay probably arent gonna play wonky times in ETF2L)
Also it's not like ESEA is free of cheaters
