Would love to go, but as boxcar said RGB is already happening in october and not sure if I'm going to have money to attend both, especially seeing as BYOC tickets are almost double the price of RGB. Admittedly the scope of the event is vastly larger than RGB's and having TF2 would be amazing, I don't see the signups looking up to have enough teams to hold an event as this would probably dip into a lot of the audience who could also potentially attend RGB LAN.

Cornpop16MikeMatI get that being a TO is thankless but you had 80 people signed up to basically give up their weekend to play this, why cancel when you come up 3 teams short?
I don't want to speak on behalf of essentials but from my understanding the 16 teams requirement was made by the sponsors. I'm not sure there would have been a prize pool for a 13 team tournament.
I understand contractually sponsors probably require that many signups to provide a prizepool, but alternatively the tournament could have still been offered without a prizepot. Admittedly this decreases the likelihood of top teams wanting to play and feeling baited in their signup, but it allows the teams that signed up to play tf2 to be able to play.
