blendtecCan we please vote for 2 matches per week guys so we don't have UGC style scheduling that results in semi-random seeds for playoffs and 90% rolls?
Rock the Vote
Hi AJ,
Stream is a place to enter your twitch.tv URL if you're going to be streaming the match. If you attach a twitch URL to a match, it will show up as a "featured stream" on our watch page at http://cevo.com/watch/. Code is a snippet of code that you can paste into a forum post on our website that embeds the match information into your post.
And just a quick update for everyone else, we've started scheduling the first preseason matches for the 7 teams that are completely "ready". If your teams wants to participate in the preseason, make sure your team has 6 "ready" members ASAP. Otherwise, teams have until February 17th to finish setting up their teams before we schedule the first regular season matches on the 18th.
BlaskoSome minor questions regarding owning/running a team with CEVO.
How many people\players can I have on an official CEVO roster? Do back ups have to pay the 15 dollar entry fee?
You can have up to 12 players on an official CEVO roster at any given time. Backups can join the roster without paying, but do have to pay to play in an official match.
LazyPandaQuick question does anyone know how to cut someone from your cevo roster? I cannot figure out how you take someone off of a team
If you're the captain --> click on MY CEVO --> Manage Events --> Roster --> Dropdown Menu (beside each player) --> Select "Kick".
Hi jodd,
Has ESEA released their map rotation yet? We had originally planned to keep our map rotation as close to ESEA's as possible to make it easy on teams playing in both leagues, but we couldn't find anything listed for the upcoming season. We also didn't feel like it would be fair to our players for us not to release a map rotation at the time we started to collect payments for the event. Our season is scheduled to start before theirs, so we don't have the luxury of waiting until their event begins.
I'd love to hear opinions on this though, would you prefer that we scrapped our map rotation and copied ESEA's when it's announced, or would you prefer that we keep the rotation that we've already announced at the time of registration?
Yes hooky, this is something that we actually do in many of our other games, but right now we're just trying to get a successful season under our belts. If participation in the regular season is good, we're certainly open to hosting additional events outside of our seasonal event structure.
We're just taking baby steps right now though, because as of this moment, we don't even have 1 completely registered team for Season 4 :p
Thanks for putting this together Lange! Just a quick reminder that teams have until the end of the night on Feb 5th to become "ready" if they would like to be scheduled a preseason #1 match. Otherwise, teams need to be completely registered and paid by the 17th of February to be scheduled a week #1 regular season match.
Where'd the poll go? :(
It's back now, sorry about that! It's extremely close right now (http://cevo.com/event/tf2-6v6/?tg=80), so make sure to get your votes in.
AJI love what you guys have done to support the community! Thank you!
Since the season is two weeks away, when should we expect the community vote to occur for coalplant?
As well as the finalized item whitelist and game ruleset? Just want to scrim under the cevo s4 whitelist as soon as I can. :P
Edit: This is a technical question, but will the sizzlingstats demos function like the matchrecorder sourcemod plugin or will it be the entire stv?
We're going to wait until the start of the regular season for our poll on coalplant as we want to make sure that we're only polling teams that are actually participating this season. Seeing as the map is slated for play in Week 7, if we do this during the first week of the season there will still be plenty of time to give everyone advance notice if the map ends up being switched.
Nahanni, Lange, and I are going to be organizing another community "town-hall" style meeting sometime next week to get some last minute feedback on our whitelist and official rules before we release them in full.
I'm going to defer your technical question to Lange, Sizzling, and/or techno as they'll be able to answer you better than I can.
Hi folks,
I just wanted to make a quick update post and let everyone know that the multi-pay functionality has finally been added to the website. You can now pay for multiple teammates in one transaction, directly from a credit card or PayPal account. Also, thanks to a few awesome community members, our Season 4 prize pool now sits at $2,300.00 and team registration will remain open until Monday, February 17th.
If anyone has any other questions about the upcoming season or CEVO in general, feel free to post here or contact me privately, and I'll do my best to get back to you as quick as I can.
Thanks,
CEVO|Pipher
omniIf I donated $50 but don't have a team can I ask for another team to be casted instead
Thanks for your support! Yes, we'll be contacting all of the donors to get their requests once the season gets under way. We've also added a global donor page, so that anyone can see all of the donations at a glance at http://cevo.com/community/donations/.
thesupremecommanderIt looks like those are manual tweets given the format.
Also, I'm surprised to find that this drive's been going on since Friday without any sort of formal announcement anywhere - just a brief mention on Facebook and that was all.
That's correct! I've been doing all of the tweets regarding donations manually. As for a formal announcement, the past few days we have been accepting donations as part of a "soft launch" just to make sure everything was working as intended. We'll be making some official announcements on the website this week with more details.
Quindaliwhy did i just read through this whole page hoping for an update on CEVO rules...
can't this circle jerking hate fest be via pm's this is an informative article about CEVO let's maybe keep one thread on tf.tv drama/hate-free and actually what it's meant for
We haven't posted any rules for Season 4 yet, we're taking our time and consulting Lange/Nahanni to make sure we're on the right track. As we get closer to the season we'll release a few polls on controversial items and then set them in stone before the first preseason match.
DaggerYou now have the option to pay via paypal. make sure to get your teams paid up!
Yes, we just released a quick update to the site that allows you to pay with PayPal. We'll be releasing another update over the weekend that allows you to pay for multiple team members in one transaction, but for now you can still pay for teammates without logging out of your own account from the roster page.
We've also released our crowdfunding functionality allowing players/fans to directly increase the prize pools of the game of their choice via donation. 100% of any donations will go directly to the prize pools and you can keep track of the TF2 pot at http://cevo.com/event/tf2-6v6/?tg=80. I just started things off with a quick $10 :P
