the biggest counterargument I see is people complaining that they should be allowed to say what they want to say because they are entitled to say it. When asked about the consequence of it making people feel hurt or discriminated against, they just say those people are pussies and should deal with it.
Speaking from experience as an Indian person in this community I have experienced racial slurs directed at me, maliciously pretty much once every 2 or 3 weeks. Do I get hurt about them enough to go and report people, no? But that doesn't mean it didn't initially become something that in ESEA hurt me and that I had to build up a tolerance to because there was no other way to deal with it.
Ive never made reports on that basis, mostly because I'm lazy and desensitized to it so I don't care enough, but I have friends who care about me and want to report stuff like that so they do,
As much as you say you want to be able to say racial slurs and it's your right, Why is it your right that others should be expected to take that pain, and have nothing they can do about it? Just because I wouldn't report it doesn't mean that someone shouldn't have the option to report something and expect action.
RGL generally works on a reporting system. A lot of times they don't reveal the "whistleblower" because of the social impact. like was said before, this community is small. Someone should not get ostracized for wanting someone who directed a racial slur at them to be punished. If you got banned for using a racial slur it's because you hurt someone enough that they reported you to rgl not because you said the gamer word to your friends, Of course, I'm not saying RGL is perfect but it is definitely nice knowing that I at least have the option that I didn't have in esea.
