#16 Help : Weird bug, frames tanking (only on comp) in Q/A Help

nvidia shader cache? Mostly affects ue3/4 games and newer source games, the only old source game/mod i've personally had issues with it was neotokyo but that mod was pretty jank from the ground up

no clue if that'll actually help but given you were presumably using hardware/whatever based recording (and most people don't utilize HDMI audio from the GPU), i think that is why audio was having issues but video wasnt.

#1 how do yall posture in TF2 General Discussion

i hang my elbow off the desk and pivot on my forearm like 2~ inches away from the elbow, full contact with my pad. to kinda make it not absolutely dogshit I play with my desk almost touching my chest so i can have a semblance of proper posture due to having a too low desk and arm rests.

Dude last night was talking about he has his arm inch~ or less pivoting from the elbow on the armrest and hovering barely above pad into a full palm grip on the mouse. Is this the strat to have consistency with desk sized pads?

#1 Anyone use TS100 soldering iron? in Hardware

Only ever have used slide on tips and traditional soldering stations. Biggest issue i've heard was the iron "melting" the plastic where the tip meets the shell but most reviewers discount it one way or another. Average use case in my situation would be 12gauge n lower, 320~C for 20-30min before my hand starts aching lol.

Anything to know or any suggestions for other irons?

#3 Maptalk-Strategy tool in Q/A Help

I would utilize the demos.tf online viewer, it uses a top down stitched image for the maps and shows the class and where they are looking (or close enough). You cannot freely drag and drop class icons, but it definitely is a useful tool for visualizing how a hold is supposed to go down from a birds eye view.

#4 Input lag/Slower mouse movement in Q/A Help

malware? sounds like your cpu is getting hammered which is causing the varying delays.

nvidia's ultra low latency mode or whatever also did something similar, would verify that and that you only have a 1 frame buffer for vsync if you do play with it

#9 Best value CPU for TF2 right now in Hardware

If you haven't gotten the gist yet, most 100-150$ CPU's are pretty nuts, doubly so for newish second hand (anything after 9xxx intel and 2xxx+ for amd).

I personally would focus on getting a board first. /r/hardwareswap is pretty reliable ive found, sweet spot is prolly 80$ as decent budget boards go on sale around that price and used higher end boards end up around 80-100. That lets you go nuts with whatever left youre comfortable spending for CPU and 8gb of RAM if youre as barebones as youre saying.

A lot of pre-built computers are being bought just for the GPU's and other components flipped, so theres a LOT of "almost complete" combo builds running around that fall right in your budget.
