I’ve been pressing on GeneralNick to do to the work for the last year, at this point I feel like the excuses have run out and I feel bad as a former admin not being able to do anything. I also feel bad as a team leader under UGC who has organized multiple players who had come to expect to get what you have promised.

This originally started with the excuse that Fortnaught is sick, that I totally understand. My issue is, why didn’t you just have Eric re-assign the API, why do I get the impression that I should finish data mining the history of medals owed for all regions? I feel like no one on staff is really doing the work and I almost question the idea that the information for distribution is available (perhaps it is only available to Fort, idk) but I do know that the tool Agro is using for the KritzKast hats is working fine and I don’t understand why you have to be so fucking stubborn to make your own medal distribution system.

Nick, you talked about how it wasn’t worth the time to make new admin panels for new formats but it’s taking ages to develop a fucking thing that’s already AVAILABLE.

6’s and HL is fun, challenging and unique, yet across all regions we have no dev support. At the end of the day any issue with any league draws down to them not giving the comp scene the support it deserves. When I see threads like this that’s pretty much what I think, because I really wonder how much Valve underestimated what kind of q competitive player base we have and the struggles it has trying to support itself.

Also Nick since, idk, if your are like not paying attention to the UGC discord, but I’m making a spreadsheet for the medals you owe, also posted a email response from Eric Smith who gives off the impression that you have not been working with them on a database system. I don’t know know what’s going on, but I’ll have the medal list done before Xmas, and if I have to use my PTO @ work to sit and distribute them manually I will.

I’d rather punch a whole in a door over homophobic comments, then another person, or if need be, hurt myself. I have anger issues and I was never well spoken when I drank, giving up that shit for the sake of having a proper platform to express myself and not have to look over my shoulder because I don’t remember posting something, is some serious grace for me.

I only posted this because I know within our own pockets of friends in this scene, we have delt with this shit. It’s heavy, it doesn’t sit well with me knowing that someone I lived with and was friends with is gone because of substance abuse. I can recall others who I’ve met and played with in game that have gone down that path, it’s not 100 percent avoidable, we can’t prevent everything, but if me speaking up and sharing my own experience helps even a single person, thats better then nothing.
