Maybe I'm dumb but I really don't see many similarities between quake and tf2.
This is definitely a stretch, but I can't help but feel like saying "tf2 is quake based" is saying something akin to "fortnite is arma 3 based" because fortnite is based off of (but plays differently than) pubg which is based on (but plays differently than) dayz, which is a mod of arma 3. but Dayz is really its own game.
tf2 is clearly based off of QTF, but QTF isn't really quake. Obviously, it's a mod so it has the same mechanics, but imo it was effectively a different game (it seems like it goes beyond just being like a custom gamemode in quake.) Tf2 keeps the general idea of QTF, but basically none of its mechanics. The mechanics of QTF were the real "quake-y" parts of it. So tf2 doesn't have many of the aspects of QTF that were inherited from quake, just the ideas that were unique to QTF.
I like both games a bunch, I just can't see it. Could someone explain why they think they are similar (or reasons why my argument is stupid, I'm legitimately curious)? They just feel very different to me. :(

I took a shower then had a bagel and some coffee for breakfast. I am now at work.
Maxi-After a month of job hunting I finally got offered a job at PlayStation for a higher salary than I asked for.
Start on Wednesday.
Wow, congratulations. That's really cool (and impressive!)
rome: total war, fallout 3, minecraft beta, runescape, battlefield 1943, MW2, l4d2, fly for fun, oblivion
Edit: Is kingdoms of amalur actually good? It's one of those games I got during a steam sale and played for 30 minutes and forgot about... Lol. All I hear about it is that it did really badly and the company went under.
didn't like it much. I think I'll just stick to bob.
I like your dog reero :)
acceptance of perversion, racism, stupidity, misogyny, violence, incest, and pedophilia is common enough in the anime I have watched for me to generally avoid it nowadays.
StarkieVisyou can't ctap as far with the originalStarkieyou cant rocket jump as far with the originalYou can actually jump further with the original, as it shoots right beneath you, ctaps with it are a pleasure to do.
Someone from the jump community told me that if you are playing jump maps with the Original you are either a complete noob or insanely good
you can max-height ctap (691 units) with both the stock and original but its harder with stock as you need a precise strafe
you should be able to ctap as far if you turn a full 180 and press s when you jump with the original instead of whatever people normally do with the stock, right? (I never really started doing that so I don't actually know for sure.) I agree that how I normally jump with the original I can't get as far as far as when I ctap with the stock, even though I used the original much more often when I played. But I always assumed it was just because of this:
I think you have to shoot at more of an angle, in addition to rotating further. because like the stock comes out of the right so looking straight-ish down makes it so it hits your side, but with the original you have to like look much more to your side to get the same effect (I think, lol.)
Realistically, tips probably won't be much help. Just practice jumping with it for a few days :)
