I think most or even all of the demos are stored on Hetzner servers in Germany. Some ISPs love to fight with them over bandwidth and refuse to set up peerings, causing slow speeds for that ISP's customers.

Hehe, those are some cool queries, I was hoping you were just missing some indexes or something, but it looks like you got all that covered.

An on-the-fly aggregation like the peers is always going to be challenging, especially since you're trying to find the top 100 players most played with/against.
One thing I would consider, is to move "log_wlt" and "player_last" from views to materialized views (unlike a view these need their own indexes). You could update these materialized views (concurrently) after a new batch of log files is imported. This might improve part of the peers query.

I'll take a look if you share some slow queries (use postgres' slow query logger) and the entire DDL (pg_dump --schema-only) and put it in a github gist.

Our Dallas and Chicago servers marked with (Anti-DDoS) are at NFOservers, so those should ping identically to something you rent yourself. In both Dallas and Chicago we also have non-NFO servers, which might ping better or worse depending on routing.

tony, since you're from Mexico, I suggest trying NFOservers in Dallas. You can try one for free at https://na.serveme.tf (they're called serveme.tf NFO Dallas #1-8 (Anti-DDoS)), that way you know what kind of ping to expect if you rent one yourself at NFOservers.

Try with a wire first.

If possible, retest with a wire, because those are some 90s speeds you're getting currently.

Explain why you think a different router will fix the described problem.

I could suggest some high speed OpenWRT router with proper SQM support, but if your internet line is shit, it won't help a bit.

Is your measured speed truly 8.5 megabytes down and 0.4 megabits up?

To get the best advice, please fully describe how you are connected to the internet. Starting at the wall, connection type, modem, router, switches, cables, powerline adapters, etc.
