#5 Rocket Jump Help in Q/A Help

more jump maps. Chances are the ones you've beaten are the notoriously easy ones like rush, beef, and adventure. jumping is an enormous subculture in TF2, and unless you're zooming through soar or baqu you don't really have a reason not to keep doing it.

The more you jump, the better understanding of the mechanics involved you gain, and with those you can take any jump anywhere without scripting it beforehand.

#58 Improving #tf2mix in TF2 General Discussion
hookyAllealIf you want to offclass regularly do it in a private pug group, or a lobby, or a scrim, or best of all, do it in a real match instead of dicking around on the side. I'd say do it in pug.na since everyone there is supposed to be experienced, but I hear that's just as bad for some reason.Sometimes if you offclass you'll get banned on pug.na, sometimes not.

Maybe it's a good idea to only allow sniper offclassing on #tf2mix.

I'm not saying we should ban offclassing entirely, I just think that if the other team starts running two snipers and a pyro they're out of line.

#56 Improving #tf2mix in TF2 General Discussion

I do not agree with full time offclassing in tf2mix.

As far as I'm concerned, tf2mix is a public pug community geared towards newer players and should be treated as a learning environment. Offclassing constantly against a disorganized team is taking advantage of that learning environment. It's not a display or your skill or the enemy team's lack of it. Ignorance and stupidity are two different things, and tf2mix is supposed to be the place to fix them. Yes, if it's already a roll teams could have been picked better. But if, instead of finishing the roll and queueing up for a new game, you prolong the game by trying some crap with pyro or heavy or whatever, you're only wasting everyone's time. I don't even like it when people go demoknight.

If you want to offclass regularly do it in a private pug group, or a lobby, or a scrim, or best of all, do it in a real match instead of dicking around on the side. I'd say do it in pug.na since everyone there is supposed to be experienced, but I hear that's just as bad for some reason.

#7 Impatient scout problems. in Q/A Help

Well first and foremost what are your scout partner and roamer doing? You shouldn't be alone on the flank, so you shouldn't be getting 2v1ed. If your teammates are down at the time then you should be as far back as possible, ready to call it and then run. Scouts should never operate on the flank alone.

Scouts also won't usually be the ones trying to break through an established defense for a pick. So dash all ideas of glory frags. Leave that to your roamer. The best times for a full flank by a Scout are during transitions, before a full defense is created. Once they're setup though it's not your job to break it down. So just focus on staying alive and assisting the roamer, waiting for your chance to push.

#4 when can you push? in TF2 General Discussion

I have never understood the European style of TF2. Way before I started playing TF2, back when I was only a spectator, the differences between European and North American teams were obvious and difficult to comprehend. Why they actually consider using their uber to pop an enemies uber a good trade I do not know.

TF2 has this perfect balance between teams, and slow games happen when both teams are afraid to upset the balance. Theoretically, a single point in damage qualifies as an advantage. But the things you're talking about? Superior heals, roamer distraction? As far as I'm concerned those are even better than a simple player advantage. Yea, a player advantage is a reliable and quantifiable advantage, but those other two are grounds for a team wipe. Everyone has seen muscle milk and moolians right? The first frag they're pushing off the fact that the enemy team is clumped up, and acting as a distraction for the roamer. And they wiped the entire team.

Euros push only on a player advantage. So their pushes are actually literal pushes. Push the enemy team out, instead of killing them all. Because the offensive team didn't do any crippling damage to the defensive one, they just set up again and it's business as usual.

NA games go faster because teams usually take more risks. They push off smaller advantages and try bigger plays. The better those plays and pushes suit your team's strengths the better results you're going to have. It's the difference between gaining one point and winning the round. Preferably in less than 25 minutes...

#8 Beta Release of TF2 Team Builder in TF2 General Discussion

I think a section for POVs/demos would be better then a youtube video section. They can be directly uploaded, are much smaller, and give the viewer more flexibility (for demos at least).

I think it's a great idea though. It can be really hard to build a team or find one if you don't already know a bunch of people.

Also speaking of POVs, was there ever a fix for PREC?

#104 Flank is an idea. A concept. in TF2 General Discussion
dogglesseanbudbrad is a winner
not this season

and winning most of the time doesn't excuse throwing your teammates under the bus when you lose, which is what he has done consistently, and publicly to boot

Does this count as publicly throwing them under the bus?

#14 How to improve as Soldier in Q/A Help

I accidentally got good at Soldier

tr_walkway+JumpiT=good solly dm

I've got like 200 hours on solly and at least 90 of them were spent on jumpiT. I just played tr_walkway while waiting for games or when I was bored. Launch pad with random trajectory for like 20 minutes at a time is actually really good for your reflexs and aim. Plus getting airshots is fun.

course none of that will help your gamesense or anything
