recently after i've joined a few servers i notice that my game starts going from 240ish to like 30-60 frames, and it does this gradually, then it happens so much that its unplayable my entire game just keeps freezing and unfreezing

this has never happened before, and im starting to wonder if my pc is starting to die (ive had it for over 4 years?)

i use mastercomfig at low/very low settings
im not very good with computers? so if theres more info needed, i can provide

Check your temps while playing the game for a bit. I also started getting bad fps dips when i switched to 144hz.

^ also drivers might be an issue, maybe check thermal past on the gpu and cpu and such. also a good spray down with a can of compressed air. dust can be a real bitch. make sure if your taking your gpu or fan off the cpu apart dont be a fucking retard like me and forget to have thermal paste ahead of time or else you wont be able to use your shit untill you do

cpu peaks at like 44 C and my gpu around 35 C when i play tf2, everything else stays within the 35 range as well
also updated my drivers last night, but it didnt help much :(
next ill try dusting everything down with the compressed air, with that thermal paste stuff

Have you tried out the experimental version of mastercomfig? https://gist.github.com/mastercoms/a7eeb371ac2c066feb3e0d397b8086c7
