Sensitivity Frustration

Probably worth making a disclaimer here that I am aware that anybody can be good at any class using any sens.

To be honest this is just a bit of a rant.

As somebody who tilts and switches mains regularly, sens has always been an issue for me. Playing sniper and scout with anything below 50cm/360 feels unbearable and inaccurate, and if I play on too high a sens I get horribly inaccurate when I'm nervous due to shaking hands. I've always felt that these two classes benefit highly from low sens due to the stability and precision that comes from arm movement, something that is backed up by the fact that prem/high scouts rarely use high sens.

Soldier, on the other hand, doesn't feel remotely comfortable unless I'm on a much higher sens, due to rocket jumping and flicks. If I play on a sens that's too low I find that I lose the ability to aim based on instinct, for example trying to airshot a fast-bombing solly. I tried for the longest time to play with 2 sets of sens, 1 i.g for scout/sniper and 3 for solly, but my aim deteriorated on both as a result of constant switching. I tried compromising, playing on 2 i.g across the board but it just makes playing both classes uncomfortable, and it's really pissing me off.

You just gotta grind it out, you'll get used to a higher sens across the board. Do this if you don't want to keep switching back and forth.

there is nothing you can truly do about it; the only thing i could probably suggest (isnt even advised tbh) is to slowly increase your sens so it isnt that big of a change; then you'll eventually get to a middle sens, that for me is 33cm, but it differs for everyone.

or, as you said, just grind with the sens you have. its tough, but the more you like grind dm or practice the more you'll get used to it

Just use one single sens your comfortable with for all classes and stick with it. From the looks of it your sens' are all over the place and your muscle memory is kinda fucked. Stick with one for a long duration and you'll start improving.

I'm switching between two different values and it's working OK for me, but if ur new I'd recommend u to stick to one sensitivity.

You could try using mouse accel with a low base sensitivity and a really high sensitivity cap so you can have precise aim with Scout and Sniper and still do fast flicks for rocket jumping and fat airshots. It takes a little getting used to though.

Use the Povohat accel driver because Tf2 has retard accel if you can't keep a constant framerate.

ppaleunI stay at 1 sense that is just crazy high, and I simply deal with the fact that I have to have insane discipline playing scout and sniper. (6.7 cm/360)

But then you probably dont main scout nor sniper because your tracking habilities are greatly reduced.

The thing is, that the fact that some "pros" that use 2 senses (Stark, nation, ...) only works for them because they have managed to build muscle memory with it over extended periods of time. For you, as most people suggested here, you should pick a sense that's comfortable for the class you main and then practice with it to the point where you can play projectile classes with more ease. Finding a middle ground could also be an alternative in case you can't seem to get used to play solly and demo with such low senses but still prefer having 1 sens for all classes.

I know the pain.

I like a lower sens on scout but a higher sens on soldier and demo for jumping and reaction rockets/pipes. My solution was simply to use a different sens on sniper and scout than I do on the other classes. I tried to have one sens but I didn't like it for either scout or soldier. I just had to have different sensitivities and you do get used to it.

I like to aim with my wrist so I can't really go below 30cm on Scout or it really hampers my movement and ability to turn quickly. I assume you aim with your arm.

i have the same issue.. so I just pick a main and dont play the others. high sens+soldier in my case. low zoom sens makes sniper bearable. its super annoying switching from csgo to tf2 or something like that, though.

Don't use higher than 8-9cm/360.(I mean use something like 9cm/360 or lower) :) My advice. + don't use mouse acceleration

I use 5.8cm/360 but I will lower it. I used 35cm/360 but i started to increase it slowly (0.2cm/360 the highest i used and it was overkill XD).

Edit:
Btw give yourself some time to adapt to new sens... Go deathmatch or something with fast spawn. You can track with your mouse some objects/teammates in normal or setup time if you don't see any enemy. I had the same issues when i was starting increasing my sens.

Sens is personal preference. Good range is 9-40cm/360.(You can use higher/lower your choice)If you want to be more consistent on all clases don't use higher than 9cm/360. You can play even on high sens and still be good scout/sniper/soldier
