So just today I got a new pair of headphones which are the Vmoda Crossfade LPs along with the Zalman mic as gifts. I'm playing on a laptop and when I plug my headphones in, no sound will play through the headphones but only increase the volume through my speakers and I'm pretty retarded when it comes to tech problems. As for the zalman mic, I have no idea how to use it or set it up. If one of you tech experts know what the problem is can you please help me? Also, it would be easier for me to understand if you explain it like you're talking to a 5 y/o who has never been on a computer before. Thanks.

Do you have the adapter on the end of your audio cord? If so, take it off. I am sure your laptop does not have a built in 1/4" port.

It looks like the headphones have two interchangeable cables. Try using the regular audio cable, not the cable designed for smartphones with the buttons and mic.

That's not it cause I have the headphones and I use the cable with the pause button (although I have the older ones with no mic) cause the other one is like 5 or 6 feet long. Make sure your plugging your headphones into the actual headphone jack as most laptops have the mic and headphone jacks next to each other. Also try right clicking volume control to check playback devices and see what device activates when you play sound.
