Man if you watch it to know who the mother is you may aswell not watch it. It's a sitcom and it has a red line but that's not the reason you should watch it for!

Jason Segel is really good IMO
There were a lot of stuff in that show that made it more than a comedy and I think thats why people enjoy it. Like the one with the death of Marshall's father and how the show went to talk about what your last words to your loved ones is going to be if you actually got a chance to say it to them. It really is honestly better than a lot of the comedy these days, just look at 2 broke girls or big bang theory, my lord.
