Just so you know I'm pretty sure the only way to pay ESEA fees is to join the roster for that player, I'm not sure if you could automate a service to do that

edit this

SchweppesCorrect me if I'm wrong but can't you theoretically do this already now that esea is on steam? Sell keys and all other marketable items on steam community market, use funds for fees?

Not to throw a panic here, but make sure to see how this seasons signups go before spending a lot of time making a service for a league that might not exist in 4 months

You can buy premium on Steam, but not pay for league fees.

Sounds like a cool concept but probably wouldn't work with how ESEA's fee system works

I'm sure cs players would appreciate this service even if esea tf2 ends

While this sounds like a great idea in theory, and will certainly help some out, but I doubt it will have much of a significant impact on the playerbase of ESEA. Most people who want to play ESEA will pay for it, it seems like this is targeting a very very small minority. I feel like this idea would be better used if the community did end up developing its own league (fuck off UGC, not you). That way there could still be prizes for winning first place of the respective divisions, we could set the prices, and have representatives of the casual and competitive community run the league, instead of a bunch of suits in an office and tri being told what to do. I still say work on the system and let it help those who need it, but I'd say the work will most likely be used when/if the time comes for us to create our own league.

Well for paying the league fee you'd have to exchange the money directly through paypal accounts - pretty sure that would work. Then the person that sold the keys would get some sort of lump sum deposited in their paypal account and would be able to spend that money on league fees/premium etc. Which wouldn't work for the steam wallet unless you used your key money to buy a game's key and sell that on a gray market site in time lol.

You can buy other peoples' premium without joining the team, but I think you have to be on their roster to pay the league fee iirc so you'd have to go the paypal deposit route.

You could just get the team password, join the team, pay the fees, and then leave the team. Rinse and repeat.

tscYou could just get the team password, join the team, pay the fees, and then leave the team. Rinse and repeat.

Which unfortunately has a once per week cooldown attached. You could just have lots of bot accounts to bypass that rule, but I'm not sure how ESEA would feel having bot accounts like that. That is, if it was automated at least.

The cooldown for joining teams? I thought it didn't apply during registration - I joined and paid fees for players on two Invite teams last season right before registration ended.

Obviously this wouldn't work during the season.

If I was ever able to play competitive (currently don't have the time) this would mean I would be more likely to choose ESEA over UGC.

It's easier for me to use steam funds than paypal directly from my bank account. I WANT THIS BADLY.
