I don't know if the site's built to support dishing different pages to different folks, but being able to make the post/topics go all the way to the left margin of the page like in a traditional BBS would make this way more readable to me. Just having what I'm reading on the left side of the browser instead of the center helps me a lot. I being able to see just the threads and streams in the right bar would be cool, too, since those are my main attraction, but that's personal.

really anything's possible, but for what you want the most elegant solution would be for me to write a greasemonkey script for people to download to force the main content area to stretch to the left
after that you could customize the sidebars to list what you want on the right sidebar and leave the left one empty. i'll probably get to this part in a week or two.
