So I've been wanting to upgrade my PC as a whole for a while but realized that I probably don't need to change everything that I have

Specs:
ATI 6770 (I have a 4890 on the side, should I switch to it?)
AMD Phenom II 3.2ghz
A old motherboard that can only take DDR2 ram
6gig DDR2 ram
750w psu (i think)
1TB 7200rpm HD

I only really play games like SC2, TF2, and HoN but I am a aesthetics kind of guy so...yeah

What should I upgrade and what should I keep for my "new" rig?

Budget maybe 300 dollars?

I think you should get some new ram and a mobo that supports DDR3, maybe if you have some extra money get either a CPU or a GPU (though I think you'll be fine w/o a GPU).

Edit: Please note, disregard my opinion, I'm actually pretty bad at this so read the other recommendations

Not worth it without more money. Save $400 and get a i5 3570K. You will also need a new motherboard and ram. Don't bother with Shikis suggestion. You will see no performance increase and buying a new motherboard for a dead socket is just dumb.

They have i5 3570k for $169 at Micro Center. Mobo costs like $130 and RAM like maybe $40. That's $340 without taxes. The only downside is that you have to live near MC since the CPU is store pick-up only. You can slap better GPU to it later.

Can you come up with the specific make and model of your Mobo. Use CPU-Z or PC Wizard.

Goldyand im an amd guy or is intel really the way to go?

On Windows Seven it is. On windows 8 and Linux AMD beats Intel in price/performance ratio by a mile. Also with Intel's resent shady business practices i will probably never buy anything from them again.

Saving up for a new mobo/processor/ram is about your best bet, imo
