I don't understand how to install low levels of detail / picmip.
If anyone could find a video or an updated version on how to install this I would greatly appreciate.

http://www.radeonpro.info/downloading/

1. download and install/start it
2. click on "global" then go to "advanced"
3. there you can change the value of texture lod (use +3 for the lod hack)

Is there an advantage to doing this? Or just preference of looks?

What should the other settings be, it doesn't seem to be working for me.

This is what I have currently: https://imgur.com/vYXtuaR

just preference of looks, indeed. no real fps improvement.

For Nvidia Inspector.

The important settings are:
Antialiasing - Transparency Supersampling being set to AA_MODE_REPLAY_MODE_ALL
Texture Filtering - LOD Bias (DX) being set to +3.0000

You can set it to 10/15 in Nvidia Inspector if you use a specific version.

STOGEAs the post above says it should be 10 or 15, if you for whatever reason can't seem to set it to this (it sets then reverts/the options just aren't there) you may want to try using an older version.

I linked this version a few posts back and it seems to work flawlessly.

Some of the stuff in this thread will help you make your game look more pixelated as well

post I made on etf2l, assuming the link still works.

If you're AMD don't do it via global, make a profile for tf2 and then change the LOD in there. Otherwise you'll have to open and close the program every time you wanna play TF2, global will apply it to every game you play unlike just doing a profile for tf2 only.
