motion blur on new monitor

I just added a new Acer monitor to my setup and occasionally experience a weird motion blur effect on it. I haven't noticed it during normal use, but it's definitely distracting when playing games. At first I only noticed it in TF2 but it is also happening to a degree with my Wii (the game I was playing runs at 30 fps). I also get screen tearing on some 60fps videos. My old monitor still works just fine with none of these issues, as it always has. They both report a 60hz refresh rate, so I don't know why there is such a difference in performance between them. Is this something I can fix?

Well, to put it simply there are far, far more differences between panels besides just their refresh rate.

Can you tell me what your old and new monitor models are, specifically?

Apologies, I don't know much about monitors. New one is linked up in the OP, old one is here

Well, both panels have a 5ms response time, and the newer monitor has a higher contrast ratio. Both are TN, so there shouldn't be that drastic of a blur discrepancy.

I'm really not sure. I'll have to look more into it.
