It is too "gimmicky" right now, probably another 10-15 years before hoverboards can be a thing.

I don't see why I would want a skateboard that only works in specific areas when I could just have a skateboard that works everywhere. Cool concept but not at all usable imo

Disappointing.... I was honestly hoping for something new. This is just quantum levitation, its been known for years and years.

A very cool demonstration of this technology: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=Ws6AAhTw7RA

Extremely impractical unless there is an easy and cheap way to cool a material down to -200C.

It's cool that lexus threw money at it and made it actually fun, but this has been around for ages.
at least the hendo hoverboard is almost practical (it doesn't need magnets on the track, and it doesn't need liquid nitrogen)

edit:somehow ninja'd by 5 minutes cause I'm slow

nobelharvardsProducers of Back to the Future really overestimated the human population when it depicted 2015 having flying cars, hover boards, automatic shoe laces and automatic clothing self drying.

Flying cars have been available for years. $300K and ones yours!
