I'm currently staying in la till next june. What are fun things to do/nice places to see/where to go to meet people
Definitely recommend the Observatory and the Getty. (as above)

Gotta see the Getty! Also check out the Norton Simon Museum - it has a really nice garden.

LACMA and the Hammer Museum are two other great options for art lovers. The Santa Monica Pier and Third Street Promenade are two great places to meet people, with tons of restaurants and stores on 3rd street. Disneyland and Universal Citywalk are two other popular places for tourists, you can also take a hike to the Hollywood sign if you're interested. Hope you enjoy your stay!

Hiking: Ernest E. Debs, Eaton Canyon, Hermit Falls, Inspiration Point, many more around Altadena.
Beaches: Huntington Beach, Newport Beach (Go to Sea Side bakery there), Zuma beach, Corona Del Mar, La Jolla, Santa Monica (This beach is kind of dirty)
Food: A bunch of good places to eat around the 626 such as Pasadena and San Gabriel, Porto's Bakery, 85 Degrees Bakery, Phil's BBQ, and so much more.
Meeting People: Downtown Fullerton

If you wanna take a roadtrip and have the money, go visit Vegas. It's only about 4/5 hours from the general LA area. I was born in LA but lived in Palm Dale til I was 5 and then went to Vegas, so I can't help you as far as LA goes. I'd suggest Disneyland and, if it's still there and within your budget, SeaWorld. I think that's in San Diego though.

the getty is fucking amazing, lacma and moca are awesome too. if ur more in the mood for something less serious check out the museum of jurassic technology near culver city, collection of some super weird shit that is meant to blur the line between reality and fantasy. super cool place, would recommend to everyone.

you could probably walk down melrose, sunset, or some other famous street and find a lot of stuff to do. LA is a city with a lot of character. If I were visiting LA for the first time, I'd definitely check out the Getty and Disneyland. There's like a million good restaurants in LA, but maybe for more LA-exclusive food, I would get a bowl of ramen at Little Tokyo (shinsengumi and men oh are my favorites) and a taco from the Kogi truck.
