So, this Christmas I'm looking to get a new Mechanical Keyboard and gaming mouse. I was particularly looking at the G400 Logitech mouse and the Razer Deathadder. Could anyone tell me the pros and cons to these? I've heard that the deathadder is fairly easy to break, but that's all just rumors I've heard. I'm also looking at the Razer BlackWidow Ultimate 2013 Stealth Edition keyboard compared to the Logitech G710+ keyboard.

If you have any helpful input as to which of these I should buy, please post here.
Thanks!

the sensors are both flawless, dpi is a gimmick so it depends how they feel in your hand. deathadder is for palm grippers, im not sure how the g400 feels but the g500 is goood for claw so im guessing its the same for the g400.

I've had a deathadder for about a year now, no technical problems. It runs at 3500 dpi which is great as well. The only thing I don't like, which is kind of big, is that it's heavy and I really really don't like the shape. Those last two though are all a matter of preference.

In order by build quality...

Zowie>Logitech>Razer

Razers tend to have problems with there rubber coatings peeling off and there buttons failing.

Logitech mice often have cable problems but they are usually good about replacement.

I have never had a Zowie mouse die on me nor have i heard any complaints from other people.

Any particular type of Zowie that you would recommend?

I highly recommend the Zowie AM (not the glossy one). Perfect sensor, good build quality, light, ambidextrous, comes with extra mouse feet. I used to use a deathadder before and dont see myself ever going back. But its all preference.

you probably don't want blue switches if you're going to play a lot of games, you'd probably want browns/reds/blacks

Any basic questions you have about mechanical keyboards you can find in this thread over at http://www.overclock.net/t/491752/mechanical-keyboard-guide.

Rosewill keyboards appear to be somewhat repackaged filco keyboards which are good keyboards. However, there are numerous complaints about the usb connector inside of the keyboard failing very quickly, resulting in a dead keyboard. In general, people tend to recommend Filco, Das Keyboard, and Leopold as some of the best on the market but there are plenty of manufacturers out there that offer a quality product.

I have a deathadder and it's tracking is perfect, the only complaint I have is at times the mouse feels heavy, but maybe that's just me being a little crybaby.

I kind of want to try out the G400 or Zowie AM though just to see if I prefer the feel of either particular mouse.

I have a Blackwidow ultimate and I've had no problems at all but, I hear that the g710+ is an incredible keyboard.

I've had a deathadder for like 2 years now, I haven't been very careful with it and it still works perfectly. Good for tracking, good for palm grip, have mouse4 as mumble talk key and it feels comfortable. I don't find it heavy at all, sometimes I even think it's a bit too light even. The wheel is not that precise sometimes, but I barely use it.

I also have a blackwidow, the cheapest one. I don't think it's worth the price. It's too big, and too heavy. Gaming response time of 1ms barely makes any difference, macros are not that useful for tf2 except if you're a binds/scripts spammer. Other than that, it's as good as any mechanical keyboard should be in everything key-pressing related, keys are responsive and it feels comfortable.

ABSOLUTELY AGREED.

Also, I've never had any problem with my old Blackwidow.
And I love the Deathadder.

I'm currently using a Logitech G400 and I love it. It took me a little while to get used to the feeling of it but once I did, it feels so much easier to aim with. The only complaints I have about it is the scroll wheel is a bit hard to click and since I love to browse the web a lot, making the link open on a new tab gets a bit tedious after a while. Also, the wire for the mouse gets really bunched up sometimes and I feel like that it restricts me from moving my mouse fully. Other than that, it's an amazing mouse.

Highly highly HIGHLY recommend the G400 over anything razer has to offer. I had a death adder for about a year and when it died on my I bought my G400 and i'm never looking back. All around a better mouse in my opinion.

Don't waste your money on a shitlord keyboard from Razer or Logitech, get a Leopold from here.

Also in terms of shape I think the Deathadder is much much nicer mouse than the G400.

I would never buy a Logitech mouse when there are better options like Zowie. Look at the Zowie EC1 eVo if you are looking for a Deathadder style mouse that isn't from Razer.

Razer keyboards aren't the best. Get yourself a realforce keyboard or something. As far as mice go, the DA is tied with the abyssus for the best mouse I've ever used. The tracking and precision on both sensors feel much better than any other mouse I've used.

Welp, after reading these comments, I know I'm going to go with the Deathadder. And, even though some people may not like the choice, I think I'm going to go with the Blackwidow. I know there are problems with razer keyboards, but it has what I need whereas other mechanical keyboards (and I have looked at a lot) do not. Thanks for the input though everyone, it helped!

One question though:
Razer Deathadder or Razer Deathadder 2013?

I got the stealth black widow ultimate just because i didn't want to piss of my roommate too much when i played and he was in our room reading or something. The only problem iv'e had with it in owning it for a little over 6 months now is that one of the rubber stoppers on the bottom has come off in the process of me moving, but other than that its worked great for me.
