IDK if you've watched b4nny's stream but playing them is so bad because of DDOS when he streams we had to scrim on client. I think streaming is a way bigger deal than saloon.

Everyone goes offline/private on steam means you should be fine.

Karlif you thought this was a problem why not ask for a ringer?

It started happening in the third half, storm had assured us it was better, so we kept going. Backup wasn't around.

MumaKresnikWas specifically centered around streamers that season it seemed. It's pretty silly to me that you're blaming this on saloon.tf and not the fact that multiple members of your team were streaming the match, when you clearly have stated that last season the problems came from streamers.

Storm wasn't streaming. So it seems odd that he was targeted when someone else is streaming, and not the server.

I'm not letting anyone stream scrims/matches for the rest of the season anyway. I want to avoid this as much as possible.

Players streaming also hurts casting groups stream numbers as well, (evl had 60 viewers while stabby b4nny and max all had 200-300) I mean im not saying stop streaming, I just know the casters were pretty disappointed that we peaked at 60

Going to play devil's advocate here in the whole DDOSing thing. KND wants their matches removed from saloon.tf and it's understandable seeing how one of their players got DDOS'd and that might've cost them their match.

That being said, betting is going to be big in getting viewership for TF2 games and if you want the game to grow, protecting yourself from DDOS attacks will be a necessary evil (not streaming, not giving out skypes, going offline, etc.)

Many of us here on TF.TV play CS:GO and that game grew MASSIVELY from the creation of csgolounge; people watched the games because they had something personally invested in it. A bunch of shitty things came out of it like teams losing out matches due to individual DDOSing, but most pros protect themselves now and the game is bigger than ever. We are TF2 players, and aren't getting paid salaries, but you are still playing at the highest level of your respective game and you should protect yourself to a certain extent. I've already said this, but keeping your matches on Saloon.tf will be big in getting viewership numbers for TF2. I don't even know if asking to have your matches removed will even do it, but please try to keep yourself on saloon.tf for the game and protect yourselves from attacks.

tl;dr betting is going to be huge for tf2 and its growth, please protect yourselves from ddos attacks

This is fairly important for helping casting organizations as well. ESL doesn't allow any of their players to stream CS:GO matches afaik and that helps streams reach massive numbers instead of being spread out over 4-5 streams (not that most CS pros would even stream matches to begin with). Having huge viewership numbers can only lead to more viewers even if it's just from a curious twitch browser seeing a TF2 stream with a thousand viewers. I know b4nny does the streaming thing as a job, but having one unified stream could really help out the scene too imo.

That's on EVL for not doing a good enough job on the promoting end. Hyped casts easily bring in a few hundred viewers regardless of whoever happens to be streaming TF2. Meanwhile, EVL has been putting out decent content for a while but their viewer numbers have been mostly dreadful.

I saw EXTV advertise even less, yet they got more. It's not entirely advertisement.

classicrumor has it the saloon.tf bet will be cancelled as storm erion was ddos'd during the match.

I don't appreciate spreading rumors like that. No decision has been made yet as I'm not sure if it was a DDoS especially after Dogs.tf vs TLR where the player has been being "DDoSed" the following day even on pcws as were some other players on the same ISP.

The other thing is

Karlcsgo lounge does not nullify bets due to ddos, doing so encourages ddosers to keep at it..

I planned on only nullifying bets if a league decides that this match should be replayed though this coin has both sides and ultimately, you could either DDoS to nullify when you're losing, DDoS to nullify when you're mad or DDoS to make the other team weaker.

I'll watch the match and make my decision, however I can't understand how KND could blame Saloon as you need to be pretty damn careless to get DDoSed and the players themselves are the only ones that can take the responsibility of protecting themselves.
Personally I'd much rather understand betters blaming them in case their bets are refunded.

Should I mention that if you have enough information about player you can flood his network so hard he gets disconnected for $5/mo, so all players with high ping who are not timed out are usually looking for an excuse when their ISP is fucking up or their family is watching Netflix?

Also I don't have any problem with not adding your matches as I don't gain anything from them except for a lot of angry forum posts. There are so many Highlander teams who seem to be able to put up a better show now that it's just not worth fighting over.

The only thing I'm sorry about is not being able to contribute to the DeutschLAN's prizepool, by hosting fundraiser bets for the showmatch for the America vs EU match that's going to happen this Sunday as I did with the previous showmatch and which was going to happen this week.

Also please try to contact someone who can help, would be sad to see you underperform because of external issues
I heard that BO Jon might help you.

EDIT: I'd appreciate it if I could get the ISP number and the info I need to have to ask them as it would make refunding/not refunding decision a lot easier.

Personally I wouldn't ever refund bets unless the league itself issued a rematch or something.

You're just giving the ddosers exactly what they want. It's stupid and counter productive. This is the first game in a while with over 90% odds in which the underdog wins, I saw the game and honestly it could have gone either way and I dont think that influenced that much.

If you refund it you're not only giving satisfaction to whoever did it, you're actively encouraging other people to ddos more in the future when odds are this high and stakes are high.

As most said already, the players need to be the ones taking precautions, going offline / not streaming, also not throwing false accusations when you're not sure (in case of scrab last week), nowadays the ddos word just gets thrown around like it's nothing, and as a excuse for everything, when in reality a lot of it is isp issues, random routing issues, etc etc. DDoS attacks are a crime in various countries and should be taken seriously and not used as a joke/excuse, otherwise that just contributes to the problem.

After watching I don't see anything that'd justify refunding bets in that game.

Bets against you don't look suspicious at all as all of them worth more than 1 euro were made by two trusted community members purpleshirt and desca. They are the only ones that could be suspected of trying to DDoS members of your team in order to gain a profit and I doubt they'd risk their reputation for few dollars. If you truly fo believe that you were DDoSed because of Saloon I believe that it won't be that hard for you to contact them.
Or maybe there was another reason for to-be-DDoS?

The other thing is that if it was in fact a DDoS I'd just wait for a league to force the match to be replayed or not.
