I wouldn't take anything in the invite pugs too seriously. I literally just started playing in them the past month - and they are very well run from what i've seen. Also, everyone that sits in spec gets a turn. Everytime i've been in mumble when teams are being selected, they go through the list of specs to see who didn't get picked the last time. Also all of the shit talk i would take with a grain of salt...it's sarcastic, and at times blatantly homosexual.

Just play with people that you like and you enjoy being around. Playing in invite is a good goal to have but is it really worth playing with 5 people you dislike just so that you can say "I'm an invite player that won 2 matches". If the invite teams that are going to try you out are filled with people you don't like at all, or that give you pointless shit, than just play for an IM team or even an open team filled with people you like.
You don't wanna play for xen anyways, having to be the only scout alive won't be much fun.

With that whole "faking my death" stuff that happened so long ago, consistently being shit talked about it for years and having it lead to people saying other stuff constantly, it makes complete sense as to why he would believe someone is being serious when they say it. But that's all settled now and everything is okay, so that's what matters, I guess.
