Unusual effects in POV demo files

Hello everyone,

I noticed that Killstreak Effects, Australium items and Unusual particle effects are not showing up in POV demo playback. I've received a few .dem files where no item properties are displayed; all cosmetic items are shown in their default quality, no paints or unusual effects whatsoever.

My friend who sent me the demo is able to view his own unusual effects on his hat during playback, as well as Killstreak/Australium weapons.

And here's the question: are item properties recorded in the demo file itself? Or are these properties fetched from the Item Server every time demo playback is started?

Thank you.

As someone who needs these, I can tell you they work in the most unusual fashion,
/is shot

For the unusual and killstreak effects to show up, the person PLAYING the demo must have them equipped at the time in their bp and in their loadout , this is not how it used to work but now it is for POV demos.

Unfortunately if you wanted to render frags with hats your only alternative is for him to record the frag necessary or for you to borrow said hats.

Other players are not affected, if other players had unusuals or killstreaks they will be fine and seen correctly, your pov will include hats but no effects from the recorder.
