StatusSpec 0.21.0 is now available.

Changes happening during and after GXL include:

  • a massive rewrite
  • camera tools now works directly according to the current spec GUI order (and not necessarily the same order as the bundled spec GUI order module)
  • loadout icons and status icons now are VGUI-based and thus come with some res files and new console variables for customization
  • team health comparison (similar to the equipment value display in CS:GO, and customizable via the included resource file)
  • custom materials has been readded alongside the custom textures module

This probably isn't a perfect release, given that I've had little opportunity to test every change, so any testing to make sure everything is in order would be great. In particular, I was receiving reports of custom materials causing crashes. It seems like the issue may have been fixed (?), but testing would be appreciated (in both the case of the module being enabled and disabled with statusspec_custommaterials_enabled, no other configuration required) just to make sure that there isn't a crash that somehow slipped past me.

As always, feedback is appreciated.

ShunCamera Tools: might want to specify in the readme that it only accepts numbers as <team> <position> rather than red/blu or soldier/medic. I tried to do that like a noob.

Yeah, RED team = 2 and BLU team = 3, and position (now) refers to where they are in the spec GUI.

StatusSpec 0.22.1 is now available. It contains a feature to fix broken timers during pauses. It's not completely tested, but the basic functionality is working. Let me know if you have any issues with it.

StatusSpec appears to be broken as a result of this update. I am investigating. It is likely that the killstreaks module may be permanently broken (and if so will be removed).

Well it's fixable, but I don't understand why Valve decided it would be a good idea to rename variables in their code.

I'll probably be performing a major update to StatusSpec in the future that will prevent one module that's broken from sidelining the whole plugin like this. Thankfully this happened after LAN and there's a few weeks of quiet offseason to get it done.

StatusSpec 0.23.1 is now available to fix an issue with infinite recursion in the player aliases module. So far, there are no known issues caused by the Smissmas update, but no testing has been done to verify this, so if you know of one, please report it. As always, thanks.

That`s not the default hud and if I use a custom one it doesn`t seems to affect anything (while statusspec is enabled).

I don't have any way of knowing what it's supposed to look like, so I'm afraid that I can't answer your question. As it stands, StatusSpec does not interfere with any of the elements you've mentioned in any of its current modules, so it can't be the plugin which is causing those issues.

As for overriding the HUD, StatusSpec HUD elements and changes are not enabled unless you explicitly switch those modules on, and they have their own separate resource files which you have to edit to customize their appearance.

I had in the /resource and /scripts folders remains of old huds (maybe causing trouble to the steam pipe transition).
Somehow when StatusSpec loads, tf2 ignore the custom (and default) hud and load parts of the old ones.
I deleted resource and scripts folders, file check, auto download and magic!

Now I can review my demos like a Pro and hope to stop dropping my ubers.

Hey thesupremecommander. I just wanted to let you know I've had some issues getting StatusSpec to enable player outlines and Medigun info with 0.23.1. I've reverted back to 0.23.0 and it's working again. Thanks for much for this plug-in!

im having trouble with the outlines. i want to make them team colored dispite what health they have.
