Falcon0408is it cod4 though?

Man, I hate to say it because I've been the same way since after WaW, but it's time to let the nostalgia trips go. This goes for me as well. For the longest time, I've just wanted to play a simple Call of Duty game and chill in some Search and Destroy server for a few hours and have a great time without having to worry about legal wallhacks, 100% accuracy weapons and a bunch of newly introduced concepts. It's not gonna happen though.

I mean, yeah, I could just go back and play Cod4/5, but I'm almost permanently burned out from those games. It wouldn't be the same as it was anymore either.

But anyway, as much as I would like to have something similar to 4 or 5 back, that's really just nostalgia speaking. I can't say I'm not excited for what this new release is going to bring to the table, but I'm extremely skeptical right now. Black Ops 2 was surprisingly a hell of a lot better than I thought it would be. It is actually a good game, despite the lack of what should be necessary features in the series for the PC port. Then I bought Ghosts, and holy shit, I have never been dunked on so hard as I was after making that terrible mistake. And I thought MW3 was terrible. H-O-L-Y S-H-I-T.

The new changes this video showcases looks very promising and I'm pretty stoked about the new movement system in the game, but I'm still not too sure how well it'll work for a game like Call of Duty, since it's not completely changing from the basic core that the series has had for the past few years. We'll see, though, I guess.

On the bright side, you can now get airshots. Can't go wrong there.

WintersunIf they announced things like:

Mod Support
Dedicated Servers
Dev Console
Ways to disable killstreaks/annoying shits
Custom Maps

Then I'm sure people would be all over it.

That's an unrealistic pipe dream now, as upsetting as that sounds. It's not going to happen again any time soon. Well, except for disabling kill/scorestreaks. That's possible, albeit only in private matches.

I'm also getting irrationally upset over people actually believing the developers are "stealing" anything from anyone. Influence is a bad thing, I guess?

Looks really painful to play on the consoles because of the new movements, but would be really fun on the pc I suppose

I saw a gameplay video and it didn't look much different than current cod games.

This is a good thing for FPS. It might not be anything like the freedom of the movement we have in TF2 or any arena FPS, but at least the focus on this COD game looks to be movement.

Remember also that COD is the best selling FPS franchise in history. A lot of people that previously haven't been exposed to FPS games where movement is one of the primary focuses will pick this game up just because its a COD game. Perhaps even open their eyes to how movement can and should be an important part of mainstream FPS games, instead of being neglected like it has for the last decade.
