Hello everyone. I need suggestions for a good mic for me to get, I have found this mic called a dynex USB microphone over best buy. My dad says dynex usually isn't the best of quality mic, but I'm not really sure. Really just need something to pretty much get me by for a few months, I have 20$ to spend. Thanks in advance for every one who will help with me finding a mic.

I second this. I have spilled beer over mine so many times and it still works like day 1. Durable, good voice quality and compact. What more could you want?

For using a 3rd party clip-on microphone with headphones, you really only have two choices:

Zalman Mic-1 is kinda crappy and quiet, but it works. You get what you pay for.
Antlion ModMic is better in every way, but substantially more expensive. Again, you get what you pay for.

Just today I was looking around online for a desk mic for a friend, and man...where did the Logitechs go? I have the old, cheaper model of Logitech desk mics and it sounds great (for being 10 bucks), but the base is shit. A friend had the advanced version with the better stand a mute button and it was perfect. Those things were like 30 bucks at max...now when I'm looking for a desk mic, I can't seem to find any value.

Any desk mic suggestions?

Everyone I know who has a Blue Snowball likes it
http://www.amazon.com/Blue-Microphones-Snowball-Microphone-Aluminum/dp/B002OO333Q/
I've used one myself and the quality is top, but it might be a bit out of budget for some people.

There's a cheaper one sans some features, but I've not heard anything about it
http://www.amazon.com/Blue-Microphones-Snowball-iCE-Microphone/dp/B006DIA77E/

Don't personally know about anything cheaper. Maybe someone else can suggest something.

My friend suggested to try out the steelseries mics. The cheapest one costs 40$, looks pretty nice though. Check out the H-series (3HV2).

My Modmic actually works pretty well attached to my monitor. I have the original version, though, so you might get different results now. Also, the current version is $50, which is probably out of your price range.

Logitech seems to have gotten rid of all their standalone mics; all I can find are headsets.

The only desk mics I know of now are the Snowball ones, but I'm sure those are way out of your price range.

Try looking here, you might find something: http://www.newegg.com/Microphones/SubCategory/ID-122?Order=PRICE

I have a 25$ rockband microphone that came with the console game "RockBand 2" Believe it or not the quality IS AMAZING.

I have it on this mic stand:

Here is some audio footage with it,

-I dont talk much in this video, but find some past recordings if you really are interested in quality.

I am happy with the results of this mic.

Why would you advertise that your budget is $20 if you're going to waste your money on overpriced boutique brands like steelseries and ignore everything people posted.

Modmic recently released 4.0 and I was thinking about getting it for a long time already, but at a 50$ price tag I think I will pass it, I might also be getting one of those zalman mics.
