Seeing how they have been changing some of the story arcs from the books lately I really wonder how close they will stay to the books for the trial by combat.

thrasherSeeing how they have been changing some of the story arcs from the books lately I really wonder how close they will stay to the books for the trial by combat.

Most of the King's Landing arc has stayed true to the source material, so I don't feel that they will change much. A lot of the trial, especially the last few lines from Tyrion, came straight from the books. I was initially worried that Tyrion's final move in Westeros would be changed, but I think the return of Shae put that worry to rest.

Overall I think the changes they made this season were excellent. The Bran story arc showed a lot about Bran's character, more-so than the book did at this point, and even though the whole trip by Jon to Craster's was kind of unwise (committing 10% of his forces to shut someone up, including some of his best fighters, and to a place he knows murderers now live, white walkers lurk near - and for some reason Bran would be attracted to it?), it was well executed in the end and tied up some worries book-readers had. Book Bran at this point is kind of boring anyway, he just kind of wanders the north for a while, waiting for his Hands to get Cold.

Also don't read/play anything that has to do with EVE Online because monsters play that game and name shit after all sorts of spoilers, GoT particularly. I clicked on a picture in a Reddit thread about EVE and one of the player's names was a pretty specific and big spoiler.
