Anyone that played RA2/yuri's revenge or old school AoE wanna share their experience? I feel like they're so dead now and obviously for good reasons.

during lunch in my school a few friends and i go to the CAD room and play RA2/yuri's revenge and it's tons of fun. I don't know if it ever had a comp scene but it seems like it could have.

Dunno about 2, but 3 supposedly still has a scene. Pretty small in relation to TF2 from what I heard on the OpenRA IRC channel.

played ra2/yuri's for years. won a copy of cnc1 signed by the whole westwood staff before in a tourney. imo once ea got ahold of the cnc franchise it went downhill, especially the ra series. I've easily put over 4k hours into ra2/yuri's revenge alone.

I really want to know the name of the person who thought the Crawlers in Tiberium 4 was a good idea.

i hate replaying the redone version of Yuri's Revenge because they took out the Hollywood actor voices in it.

Oh my god that game was so good.

I always played single player though. After awhile I thought I was hot shit so I went online to stomp some nerds. Turns out I was garbage and got demolished by an army of tesla tanks.

On a side note, the apocalypse tank is one of the greatest RTS units in history.
(It will soon be a wasteland.)

I always preferred Red Alert with Aftermath and Counter-Strike (heH!) for online play - but the campaign in Ra2 was pretty zany and they actually had decent actors for the live video segments - you know - I kinda miss live video segments in video games :/ Never really got the chance to play ra2 online a ton - mostly because it was a strange game for multiplayer lol.

I played OODLES of Red Alert 1 on Westwood online on my 28.8k though :D Wonderful time - Naval Conquests 7 hour 8 man free for all never forget.

I played AoE 2 ALL the time as a kid - started in like 5th grade when it came out. We used to play EVERY day after school. At its peak we started playing AoE for lunches - whoever lost had to buy the next day. I never lost #Longbowmentoostronk.

Soviet mission to invade Yuri's Island. Too much mind control? Grind harvesters to rank 3 and run them over.

Never did play RA2/Yuri's online though, mostly LAN vs my cousin and brother. Same with AoE2.
