Demos broken, again?

Hey guys

So I've been recording recently to try and complete a frag movie. The last clips I recorded were sometime last week. This was following the fairly recent broken demo fix offered as a 'beta' within the TF2 options, fixing the lack of textures which resulted in invisible projectiles and weirdly angled secondary weapons.

Last week all the demos were perfectly fine, with the relevant fix doing it's job.

However, I spent the past hour trying to figure out why the demos have once again broken. Verified multiple times, tried launching normally and as the beta fix both with and without Lawena, testing multiple demos (including ones which worked last week). The texture bug which made projectiles invis. is fixed (even when running out of the beta mode), but no matter what I do the viewmodels remain in awkward positions such as this:

I just wanted to see if anyone knows what I could be doing wrong, or if all demos are indeed broken.

I sent an email to Eric earlier today and he just replied letting me know it should be fixed when using the 'pre_hwn2013_demo' beta. I'm yet to test it out myself, but yeah. Should be good to go now. :D

I'd be more surprised if there wasn't something broken with the .dems

As I already mentioned, a fix has been made available for that bug. Right click on TF2 > Properties > Betas > pre_hwn2013_demo (select from the dropdown list).

When in that 'Beta fix', you will be unable to connect to normal servers and play online. It fixes both the invisible projectiles as well as the viewmodels.

What happened was a recent update (on this past Sunday night) broke the 'Beta fix', resulting in the viewmodels bug. This has since been fixed, again.
