Hello

I know it's probably an odd question, but is there any way it's possible to remove specific sounds from playing? Specifically, I only want to have my hitsound play, but my game to be silent otherwise.

Thanks

Can't test it out myself at the moment, but you can try typing "volume 0" and "tf_dingaling_volume 1" in your console. I'd imagine it would work.

the "volume" command controls all of your tf2 sounds. Including your hitsound, gunshots etc

i don't think its possible to individually mute sounds, but you could replace the sounds of everything with a silent audio file. i'm not sure where i found them, but in my custom folder i have some sound files that replaces the audio of the end of round applause, the announcer, and the dominations with silence.

they're vpk files, i don't know how to do this though.

i assume this won't work on sv_pure 2 servers right?

It works for me, I'm not sure why or if it should.

Can you show me where you found these or maybe throw up a dl link? all of those sound like things i'd like to remove from my game.

(not all the sounds but these should make you feel less sad.)

i know how to, create an empty .waw file and name it to the sound file you want to delete. you can delete ambient sounds, musics, random wild sounds, and can keep only footsteps or explosions, still dis wont work on comp servers, only on most of the lobbies and centers

Thanks for all the help. I assumed it would come down to something like replacing files, I just didn't know where to start.

Sweet. Should this work on regular pug servers like tf2mix and pugna?
