SoapGeorgia Tech is an awesome setup. I was accepted there and I was seriously considering taking the offer.

What is your major?

I want to get two separate degrees in 5 years (or 4 and some summers)- one in chemistry and another in horn performance. Tech would be great for one, but awful for the other. I have lots of friends who go there, and it's great.

KRAKI just got an acceptance letter from La Salle in Philly. I should be hearing back from my top two (Suffolk and Emmanuel, both in Boston) in the next few days since I applied early action to those.

i applied to suffolk as well. Im really nervous to hear back.

I'm about to finish my undergrad at Carnegie Mellon in May. And I just accepted a full time job offer. I don't know where I'm going to find motivation to finish school.

I just received my LSAT score from December: 173. With my GPA, I'm an auto-admit to everything but the top 5 law programs, and stand a good chance to get into everywhere except Yale. Pretty stoked about that, been on pins and needles for ages about the score.

Thats awesome. I am split on my future. Part of me wants to go to law school, meanwhile I am finishing up pre-med.

...that is an awesome score! now, the real hard part is not becoming an alcoholic as a 1L :)

SoapWhat was the LSAT like?

not fun. at all. in any way.

i took it, did not bad (got a 162 or 163, like 87 or 88th percentile for when i took it) but not as good as i wanted to. took a year off which was a GREAT decision. now i am in a field that i enjoy significantly more...even if i had to take the GRE to get in haha

swiperI have grad school apps due tomorrow and one of my professors still hasn't submitted her recommendation, and hasn't responded to any of my reminder emails for the past two weeks. I was second-guessing my decision to go to grad school, but I guess she's making that decision for me...

Also, I agree that the ranking of your school doesn't seem to matter very much. I went to a top-20 school and no one seemed to care very much when I was looking for jobs. I do think I got a better-quality education, but as far as getting a job goes it hasn't seemed to matter. :(

Go to Grad school, we both know how much you've wanted too.

visitnigAnd honestly don't worry about what college you get into, because as cliche as it sounds, its what you do that will count. I personally had a friend who went to a barely top 50 school and still got a position at Goldman Sachs along with other elite finance firms where the acceptance rate is much lower than Harvard(2% vs 6%) and had to beat multiple 4.0 Ivy students during the interview process.

I'd just like to point out that being a "barely top 50 school" still means you're in the top 2% of all schools in the nation; it does matter a fair amount, since there are thousands of universities, and that's just the USA alone.

That being said, good luck in your next four years of "real world prep" everyone; do your best to make the most out of it, both socially and academically!

What is your GPA? What was the LSAT like? your major?

My gpa is about a 3.77, and I'm a triple major in english/history/philosophy&religion; I go to an okay, but not stellar, undergrad school. The LSAT was pretty hard, not gonna lie; I took a dozen or so old exams beforehand. If you like logic games then the analytical reasoning will be pleasant, and if you have taken a logic class, the logical reasoning/reading comprehension will be really familiar.

Yea, I like to use this utility as a baseline. Uses the admissions statistics for the T14.

You have to take logic and algorithms as a math major so hopefully that is good preparation. Most stats show that math majors do the best on the LSAT, just hoping I can follow the trend.
